Rik can joke all he wants, but for any Triumph fan, his acoustic pieces were highlights of both the shows and the albums. Master musician, who also just happened to be about the best lead singer/lead guitarist/songwriter any band could want.

Vastly underrated player. I’ve enjoyed all of this man’s career genres. He used to travel to the Blue Note Cafe post-Triumph in Cincinnati often, club held maybe 200. Those were the best, most intimate shows. Total storytelling and freestyling jams for three hours. His gift of storytelling combined with his hilarious sense of humor ranks right up there with his playing. I miss those intimate club shows. Come back! We miss you😊🙌❤👏👏👏

Long Beach Arena for me... love every song Triumph ever made.. so underrated as a band. From Gil Moore on drums and sharing vocals to Mike Levines bass lines to Riks absolutely blistering solo's... Gil Moore went on to form Metalworks studio out of Toronto i do believe.. Wish they stayed together.

Along with being a virtuoso guitarist, does anyone remember how enlightening and compelling his instruction was in Guitar Player Magazine back in the day? He would take your favorite Zeppelin, Rush, Triumph (natch), Al DeMiola - whoever was burning up the fretboard - and make it fun and cool to learn. Loved it. Changed my life...

@analogkid49574 жыл бұрын
Interesting comment. I’m a fellow Rush fan. Both bands are so comparable. Canadian trios, great musicians, intelligent lyrics, both came up in the mid 1970’s. Do you think Rik Emmet is better than Alex Lifeson on guitar? I think it’s a competitive argument. You said Triumph is not Rush. What do you mean. I love both bands.
