I love these writer round type sessions. Jessi sounds incredible. Last week I loved how everybody sang a random Merle song. Also love when the other artists jump in and sing backup vocals or play a little extra guitar lick now and then. Great stuff so far. Only problem is I wish they were longer!

Great series and great performances. Good stuff. When it comes to songwriter nights, though, and maybe it’s just me, the focus is on the writing and lyrics. Granted, the melody is a huge part of a great song, but I’ve always felt that folks tend to run the instruments way too loud in the mix. In the other episodes of this series it wasn’t too bad, in this particular one though, the guitars are so loud they take away from the lyrics and, ultimately, the message and impact of a tune. If songwriting is on display, you should never have to struggle to hear lyrics over an instrument. Once again, not trying to be rude, just my humble opinion. Great series and awesome tunes nonetheless 🤘
