I love how mature Riley is, like I like how the direction the writers took it in. Usually in these dramas, the girl is desperate or vying for the other couple to break up, treats the other girl like shitt, or plotting something to manipulate the situation. But you could see she’s sad about the situation, but she respects Mac and desi relationship, she treats both desi and Mac with respect even when her heart probably wants to do something else. i think she knows it’s just not her time, or Mac has to choose her when it’s right for him. Clearly Mac isn’t happy in the relationship. Remembering an episode when Mac was talking about missing his father and how they used to go fishing after a mission. Mac invited Desi straight after and she wanted more for their first date after the pandemic. Which is fair enough, but you could see the disappointment in his eyes. If he asked Riles, she would probably say Yes because she knows how complex Macs relationship with his father, not that Desi doesn’t. I just don’t Desi gets relationships are being sensitive to each other’s needs and are in the little things.

This is some new crap. Mac has always seen Riley as a kind of little sister. Now, Bozer and Riley is where the tension should get back to, now that he no longer has a girlfriend. Early on the series, that was a thing, and they got away from it. I hope they don't try to hard to create a love triangle, so there is some soap opera style drama.

But, Remember, they had that brief storyline where he was in the FBI academy, and developed a relationship with that other girl. For some reason, they abandoned that relationship & storyline. So, it’s not a stretch to have the writers let him back out of the friendzone.

Yea the Mac and Riley thing is part of the reason I stopped watching this show. It didn't make sense given they had had a sibling like relationship for the first four seasons and then out of the blue suddenly the writers cannot think of anyone else for either Mac or Riley so they decided to throw them together. Its lazy and the characters deserve better.

I have to disagree with you there. As you already stated, Bozer had a crush on her since the moment they met. But having a crush doesn't automatically mean that you are actually in love with someone, let alone starting a relationship with. In any case, I never felt any chemistry or potential romance between Bozer and Riley. And the fact that they actually never shared these romantic moments, only confirms this fact. What you feel about Mac and Riley having a sibling type of relationship, I feel about Bozer and Riley. As someone who actually HAVE a sister, I can confirm that the chemistry Mac and Riley share together are not out of sibling love, but rather something different entirely. I love my sister to death, but I would never hold her hand or smile the same way Mac did with Riley. It would not only be weird, but rather awkward as well. Mac may have considered Riley as a sister or colleague at the beginning (during season one), but judging from what I have seen so far, all that has changed as time passed. Mac may have developed his feelings towards Riley; he just don't know it yet...

Despite this show being one of the most stupid things ive ever seen, all actors are like robots when it comes to "feelings", it makes the impression that the writters just cant write serious lines for this show. In any case thats the worst of the problems concerning this show. The old MacGyver will cry from his tomb if he could watch this. Welcome to the television of this generation and the brainless audience of these days.
