Hi Philip! I loved this video!! What makes shooting from that building compared to other skyscrapers in other countries, is the fact you and the other photographers were making history. You own the recognition of being able to say that you were the first in the country to have taken photos at the top of the building. Sure when it opens and more people are given the opportunity to photograph from the top, only you and the other photographers up there that day, will be able to say; 'I was the first to shoot photos' from the top. Very cool!! Congratulations! Best Duane

Thanks Duane, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. You are absolutely right, it was a privilege to be allowed onto the newly constructed top of the building, and be one of the first lenses taking aim at the unique view from up there. Such a glorious sunset too!

Its an observation deck...you can do the same thing on the Empire State Building or many other skyscrapers. What makes this different?

As well as being Birmingham’s first official sky scraper (a building over 150m tall) it will be the worlds tallest Octagonal building. That is to say, will be, currently it is a building site. Not open. Not accessible. The top storey was completed and the photographers were invited up there in the builders lift to mark the occasion. It was the first glimpse Brummies got of the views from their newest iconic building.
