I think all the companies are at some sort of fiddle with in the ECU's.Just looks at the diesel MOT scandal. It's wrong that they say it's past it's best, without even doing any checks. It's just a money making scam. Pay the dealer thousands for the repair or buy a new car. 🤬

I have a 2012 Berlingo (B9) that kept telling me of a similar issue and no ad bleugh 🤮or similar. So I removed the cat/DPF unit, split it in half and used brick cleaner 25% and cold water 75% (HAS to be cold as the brick cleaner & hot water destroys the stainless steel body) and washed out the iron particles. I told it via my Autel it no longer has a problem and to man up 😆It reaches the rev limiter 1st to 4th gear and is pretty quick for an 8 valve 1.6hdi. I love it 🥰

You are a genius with this stuff. I think that it's very dishonest of vehicle manufacturers to build a DPF, or indeed any sort of countdown into their software! Especially when the item involved doesn't need replacing. That is called conning people out of their hard earned cash!! Pure dishonesty. I also follow Baz Meredith and if I ever had a minor or major problem that I need to get sorted I would travel to either of you to get it fixed. ( I'm in Manchester) Both of you sure as hell know your stuff and you both make great videos Thank you 👍

Lots of them are at this crap now. You can buy a fairly new E Class Mercedes diesel hybrid for dirt money. The reason, they built the software that controls the hybrid battery to brick it after so many on/off cycles even if there’s nothing wrong with it. As these cars have no starter ( they move off on the battery & the electric motor turns the engine on when it’s needed) the vehicle won’t move. Owner contacts Mercedes “You need a new battery, that’ll be £10,000 please). It’s completely mad.

Actually the dpf additive tank is on the left side , right in front on back axel under plastic cover . You should check there. Those new models have smaller tank and they have located it another place. But if you read standard parameters and choose exhaust line info you should see Dpf replacement mileages. Usually it is 160 000km . After that you should program new filter in.

Good job, Jimmy! I think we are not far out of DPFs and other exhaust treatment parts, starting to have electronic serial numbers, to prevent this type of recovery and cleaning - for these greedy manufacturers, everything is disposable, with a predefined lifespan (and that includes the car). So much for preserving the environment! It's all hypocrisy!

The newer Peugeot Partner is a "K9" and the Peugeot Expert is a "K0", the Boxer is "X250", same model codes for the equivalent Toyota/Opel/Vauxhall/Citroen/Fiat cars, maybe get the model codes tattooed somewhere since you do so many? ;) Very weird and unusual if the car actually didn't have an additive / Eolys tank... are you 1000% sure? I personally have never seen one come from the factory without one. But you know already Jimmy that the countdown is done because they assume that the additive has clogged / gummed up the DPF to a point of unuseability for the car, but we already know that this calculation is far too conservative and in reality the DPF can go much much longer before the ash or additive clogging actually gets bad enough to need a replacement... is it a scam? Maybe? Hard to say, I think it's not so much the PSA engineers being clueless as it's probably regulations or the additive fluid supplier forcing them to prescribe a DPF replacement at this mileage... but like you say just reset the counter and she'll go for many more miles. Unfortunate but it is what it is, unfortunate but it's been like this ever since these cars got the additive system many many many years ago. The dealers also have to follow the method of operation and standards of the manufacturer so the dealer can't be like "nah mate that countdown is just bullshit and a scam, we gonna reset the DPF and on you go mate, don't listen to it" because then they'll lose their certification from the manufacturer since they don't follow the procedures, same with DPF or EGR or Adblue deletes - also can't tell the customers it's a better option sometimes. The Toyota workshops have very little to no training on these cars or the diagnostic tools used for them, they use exactly the same tools and documentation and everything like the Peugeot dealers use but since it's day and night compared to Toyota and they lack the interest and training for these cars they usually struggle with them a lot, not unusual for these cars to end up at Peugeot or Citroen dealers when the Toyota guys can't figure it out, it's a straight plug and play with all Peugeot tools and documentation so the garages don't even need separate tools to diagnose the different badge engineered versions.

hello everyone im having a problem here and i wish if anyone could help me on this. my car is a 2014 CLA200d, previously it had a code of P2459 which means that the number of regeneration is high, obviously with that P2463 also shows. now ive tried using DPF cleaner, change the oil, air filter, and using a scanner it shows a Differential pressure of 4milibars on idle and 40milibars on 2.5-3k rpm which means now the dpf is clean and not clogged. using the same scanner, teach in process for new dpf, and relearn the dpf sensor and clear codes. after a month or less the problem (Code) came back. so what is the problem here? is it a dpf sensor problem? i check the dpf presure sensor it still read 4milibars and 40mililbars on 3k rpm. i am out of ideas already

If the manufacturers recommend a new dpf at certain mileage then thats up to them. You could look at a timing belt and say it doesnt need a new one its working fine. Hardly a scam.
@danielseibert40825 ай бұрын
well unlike the belt the DPF is monitored by the ECU the whole time. and when something really is wrong you get the warning. The ECU does not know the condition of the timing belt so there it makes sense to change it after xxxxx miles/years. Also many manufacturers dont set a milage for DPF replacement.
@ORileysAutos5 ай бұрын
Correct. the DPF is monitored by sensors so if it wasn't working correctly it would log a fault like P2463 for blockage. P2002 if it is damaged. P2459 For regeneration frequency too often indicating worn/Ash build up
