RIM was so good that its price was 1600 AC just a couple months ago. Then devs did the biggest favor for the f2p community by giving it as a free item in battle-pass. So everyone got it. Those who wanted more also bought more because price came down below 200 AC. Now its again going up. So buy as much as you can while there is still time.

Rim 162 vs Crotale difference 19-20. But it was over priced. That's why dev give it as free. And that sea dart was more powerful, but they secretly reduced it's power I guess.

Anything to prolong your ship's life is good. We know a very good pilot will still wreck any ship by attacking from a safe distance. Still, surface ship have more to their arsenal to take out airplanes farther than AA range using rim-174 equivalents by sacrificing DPM against surface enemies. It's all about preferences when needed.

You missed one advantage of sea dart. Look at its range. It has around the same range as most locked AA. And the latest airplanes have vision to lock your ship at 5 km. With sea dart airplane pilots have narrow distance to evade after releasing their attack, the gap only 0.67 km or prepare to flare. This makes it harder for airplane pilots. If you have experience marked by airplanes sitting comfortably above you, you'll know how it feels. You'll feel helpless and complain about how easy they wreck your fancy ship. This sea dart gave a fully unlocked ship to have a very far AA. Or locked AA ship to double trouble airplane pilots.
