Thanks for providing a review. Seems like there is a huge gap on KZbin for luxury luggage reviews. Keep up the good work.

Love Rimowa!

I don't mind an all-over patina, but scratches and dents would make me crazy on an expensive piece of luggage. It bothers me on inexpensive luggage too. Lol! So I went for a textured carbon fiber-like textured suitcase that looks like brushed metal but is actually polycarbonate. But because of the texture, it will minimize scratches. But even if it does get some scratches it won't look obvious and I won't feel bad, because my 21 inch was just a little over a $100 and my 26inch was little over $130 I think.

Original Cabin Suitcase 🧳 Cover; Materials - Outside: Nylon and Molded TPU Corners. NOT leather as stated.

I wouldn't use a cover for a Rimowa Cabin suitcase. This defies the purpose of showing it off. Are the corners still made of Aluminum or now composite?

What is the size or your Rimowa? Cabin S or Cabin? Thank you
@tripfamluv14852 жыл бұрын
It is the cabin. I have the classic 9m the s and honestly as a carry on might as well maximize your space and not get an s. Both are technically outside the allowed dimensions by width so might as well max the depth!
@dng9922 жыл бұрын
@@tripfamluv1485 you have any new thoughts on this? looking for a cabin bag for all kinds of flights eu/us domestic+international....cabin s vs cabin? S because its going to be safest option but then it is that bit smaller
@tripfamluv14852 жыл бұрын
@@dng992 I think for that much travel you will always regret having the smaller one. Technically both don't fit the "standards" for carry on luggage on a lot of non US airlines BUT rimowa is so frequently used in Europe it's not usually an issue for people that way.

The cover 😂

I agree with covering up your suitcase. Disgruntled baggage handlers are known to intentionally damage expensive Suitcases out of spite and envy. Kinda like Tesla haters who will maliciously key, scratch up a Tesla for no reason. So yes, the $250 Blanket apron cover is well worth it particularly if you intend to bequeath your RIMOWA to your loved ones when you gone. What I do, is, I clad my RIMOWA during Check-in then disrob the apron cover at baggage claim.

Wow..intentional damage of luxury cases by baggage handlers? I never imagined this. This will deter me from such huge investment.
@1malikalik2 жыл бұрын
@@Tirelesswarrior Yep. Actually, most if not all the damages on aluminum cases come from handlers and storage as they are stacked up together and even tossed. I have worked at a FEDEX Plant and with the voluminous shipments it's hard to delicately and safely handle the packages like they should. Also, Passenger airlines contract with Postal Carriers to ship their packages. So, you beloved Suitcase might be stacked up together with an 80 pound dumbell from Amazon.
@mecvm98572 жыл бұрын
@@Tirelesswarrior I just don't know how that kind of rumor spreading out. I don't believe baggage handlers are busy at damaging expensive suitcases, because if you have ever carried thousands suitcases in a single day you just don't have any that "intention" to make an extra effort damaging luxury cases. Maybe yes your suitcase is special for you, but for them come on it is just a normal baggage like many million other luggages in airports.

What’s petina?
@tripfamluv14852 жыл бұрын
Hi thank you for watching. Patina is the change over time. For rimowa if you go to their stores they have examples of luggage that have been "used" with tons of dents, scratches, and worn out stickers on them. This is the patina and actually what they feel your luggage should look like over time. It should reflect the travels and experiences you took the luggage on as each place leaves a mark on you it also leaves a mark on your luggage. I think it's perfectly OK to enjoy their concept while also appreciating their luggage without patina lol!
@tigre9271 Жыл бұрын
Generally, a patina is a dull sheen that develops over time with certain materials. Like gold and silver and other metals when exposed to the environment or constant rubbing against it. Leather goods will develop a patina also. It gives the product a worn in look. Some people like it, some don't.
