So my story. I was adopted at age 4. I came out as trans at age 16. It was really hard because I knew my parents views weren't very positive about the LGBT community. It was hard at first for them to accept it, but as time went on they completely supported me. Now I lived with my biological mom for about a year due to my adoptive parents wanting me to be more independent. After getting top surgery, something that was supposed to make me feel better about myself, my biomom assaulted me and kicked me out while I was still recovering from my surgery. My adopted family was there to take me back and give me all the love and support I needed at that time. They aren't my blood but my parents chose to adopt me and give me the best life they could. We had issues yes, but that's every family especially with teenagers. But they were there to help me whenever I needed it. I am currently living 850 miles away from them. I make sure they know I love them and am thankful because at the end of the day, they gave me so much throughout my life and it helped me become a better person. Family doesn't have to be blood. But family sticks together no matter what. ♥

Finding your family later in life is just as good as having a good family in the first place. The love and care is just as intense. Don’t know if you’re going to see this, but I’d like to let you know, this song has grown to mean so much to me, in fact I would say it is my 3rd favorite song in all of history, which is saying something. I’m a part of a close-knit online group and we are very much like family, they are like the brothers and sisters that I wish I could live with in person. One of our members shared this song a few months ago, and it has spoken to my soul, it captures exactly how I feel towards them. They’ve been there for me during hard times, quite often I trust them more than I trust my parents, and I would put aside everything to be there for them. That kind of love which is strong because it leans into sentimentality, a choice to stand by someone’s side and support them because of how they have touched your life, that’s what I feel and that’s what this song makes me feel. 😢 someone who was close to me told me that it reminded her of our relationship. Unfortunately due to circumstances I will never know she decided to cut me off . I’ve haven’t heard from her in 4 years now. She was my stepdaughter, I helped her through everything. I helped her dad raise her since six years of age. As she grew older We developed a bond I never thought I could have with anyone. She was a daughter , sister and an amazing friend. We talked about anything and everything. Hours a day till one day nothing at all. Maybe my feelings were one sided but I will forever miss our friendship. I was her shoulder to cry on and a person to laugh with.
