Well... until now I was an unconditional of the Eduardo Tarilonte sound banks, but I must say that your approach of this types of instrument seem to me sober (so musically efficient) with an incredibly clear and easy to use interface in Kontakt... well done Fluffy Audio !!!!!!

I wish film composers who fake early music would: 1. use this library, 2. write as knowledgably in style as who did this video. It's just amazing as a demo from any point of view.

okay i just bought and played around with this! i really love it :) the sounds are great and i'm feeling very inspired by it all! I even like how it has a little paragraph on the history about each instrument. i wish every library did that!

I bet most people here would down-vote this opinion, but in any case. I've seen and heard the actual instruments and some serious work needs to be done to this library to make them 100% authentic. I have purchased this library and although I was initially rose tinting my opinion it has mellowed over the past few months playing around with it. Here are my thoughts: General: A problem with most of these wind instruments (Brass, Flues, Reeds) is that the staccatos are more like staccatissimo than true staccato leading to me not using the staccato articulation very often. Also some of these instruments have very unbalanced and not normalized volumes at high dynamics which can cause overdrive on sound systems. Cornetto: The Cornetto should be a more brassy sounding and more aggressive than it is. Also the attack and release of the note is completely gone and lost. The Attack of Era II's (Best Service) Cornetto and its harmonics are far superior to this one which sounds very synthetic by comparison. There is also some serious lack of decibel normalization with the Cornetto (The most egregious example of all the sampled instruments), especially towards fortissimo, the notes have an unbalanced volume to the high notes; over driving the sound system and causing ear damaging crackling. This leads me to turn the rest of the sections I use down to make sure the cornetto sings out like it is supposed to. Sackbut: The Sackbut is surprisingly well sampled for the longs and useable in ensemble work, but the attack or tonguing of the note is missing or severely cut off by the sound designers except for the staccato which is still too short. I would have liked the Sackbut's playable range (if you were looking for a general sackbut instrument that filled the entire range of the full sackbut family) to be extended to low F so it would count as a bass instrument to go along with the Dulciana. Recorders: Slightly behind par and less user friendly to Embertone's offering, but decent enough to use on occasion. Good to see all of the instruments individually though (Sopranino, Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass). Baroque Flute - Pretty good sampling here, though attack samples need work. Rauchpfife - This thing has a wind cap, why did you even give it the ability to control dynamics!? Like the Crumhorn it should only have one dynamic level - Loud! Also, no attack and no note release samples either. This is actually usable in ensemble work as opposed to the crumhorns, but the lack of attack and release sampling for this instrument really kills realism here. Shawm - Great Tone compared to Era II, but again, lack of attack and release samples to make it more authentic really kills realism. Also surprisingly usable in ensemble work. Era II has the attack and release samples, why don't you fix it! Also unlike a traditional oboe, the dynamic range is less varied and limited to mezzo forte to fortissimo in general. Bombarde - Decent tone, but overall inferior to Era II and still doesn't have attack and release samples. Still usable though in ensemble work as long as it is covered up. Crumhorns - Terrible, Absolutely Terrible. Horrendous tone compared to Era II, Missing Soprano Crumhorn, No Attack and Release Samples. Even Banchetto Musicale's Samples (which still sound synthetic compared to Era II Medieval Legends) have attack and release samples and have better tone than this. Why did you massacre one of the most important parts of this library! WHY? Also, Why no Great Bass Crumhorn? Make it Happen. Dulcian - Surprisingly playable, great tone and the only sampled Dulciana that I know of. I'm a bassoonist and Organist myself and I can give credit where its due. However, the attack and release sampling is lacking still and should be there. Baroque Violin/Vielle/Viol De Gamba - A much better option compared to Era II's Offering of the same instruments. Very well done guys. Plucked Strings - Haven't had much use for them, but they are there when I need them. Lots of options and from my playing around with them they sound nice and maybe the only sampled examples. Harpsichord - Severely neutered attack samples, no release sample for the plectrum on the last note or notes returning to rest position (Big sin for a Harpsichord). Otherwise pretty usable for ensemble work, not on its own. Virginal - The only one I know of that is sampled. Again, would love to have a plectrum release sample. Renaissasnce Organ - Great Sampling here from a baroque/renaissance Italian Organ. I would want some more detailed information on the stops, especially the combination ones that are shortened in the manual. I have a huge gripe with the keys switching implementation for this instrument. You cannot latch keyswitches with this instrument and instead only toggle. It would be nice to latch in case you had an articulation manager control surface on your DAW that allowed you to change organ registration without remembering which stops are drawn without going into the patch to change it or literally using the keys to do it and having to guess which stops are active and which are not. Positive Organ - A very usable example and very well sampled. Well Done! Percussion - Would be nice to have individual instrument patches to save on system resources. ------- Missing Instruments That should be added in a future update or as part of a pro version for more money: Zither - Era II has it, why not you. Gemshorn - An Ocarina-like wind instrument in renaissance/medieval consorts acting as a blending tool between the Reeds, Strings and Flutes. Very Similar to the purpose of the Organ stop of the same name. Soprano Crumhorn - I thought this was a given since your three direct competitors Era II, Banchetto Musicale and Vienna have one that are more realistic than all of your crumhorns and makes the whole library more complete. Great Bass Crumhorn - This is part of VSL's Historic Winds Library and is a direct competitor to your library due to how more realistic they sound. Racketts - A Low Reed Instrument that Is necessary to compliment the Crumhorns and Dulcian. You would be the first to sample it - making it unique. Racketts are made similarly to Crumhorns and have the same number of finger holes and therefore most have the same tonal range. Rackett Sizes are Descant (in C full 12th playable range), Alto/Tenor (Pratorious G to C), Bass (Pratorious C to FF) and Great Bass (Pratorious A to DD or G to CC) Regal - A Positive Organ with a Regal Stop (Reed) in it. It was used in the renaissance for princes dukes and monarchs in addition to crumhorns and should be included. Unique Instrument. Untuned Kettle Drums - An Ancestor to modern timpani with the inability to be tuned on the fly. Uses hide or some animal skin instead of synthetics to get a more muted, yet still deep sound. More Dulcian and Sackbuts - Subdivide the general patch that you have now into the playable ranges of all the individual versions of this instrument. Dulcian Sizes Are: Soprano (in C), Alto (in F or G), Tenor (in C), Bass (in F), Great Bass/Contrabass (in F). Sackbut Sizes are Alto (F or E-Flat), Tenor (B-flat), Bass (F or E-Flat) and Great Bass/Contrabass (B Flat).

Is there a way to hold the notes of vielle longer than 3 to 4 seconds? I would like a much longer held not, but it doesn't look like the software allows that.
@FluffyAudio
@FluffyAudio 7 жыл бұрын
Michael Miraula hello Michael, actually the real instrument can't sustain such notes for more than that time. So the best thing (which sounds also very natural) is to use the rebow keyswitch
@MichaelMiraula

@kylejudkins754
@kylejudkins754 7 жыл бұрын
Michael Miraula that's because it's how the real instrument works... bowing an instrument has a physical limit, because the bow is only so long, so once you reach the end you've got to reverse the direction (rebow) that's like asking a tuba player to play a note forte for 2 measures... maybe if you hook an air compressor up their tuba XD but a humans lungs can only be so big

Great collection. My only cons would be they lack little bit of natural low end on some instruments, some tend to sounds little bit on thiner and brighter side to my ears. Other then that pretty good value and number of instruments for the price.

@@FluffyAudio Wow I didn't exspect such a quick response. Sorry for the stupid question (I'm a newbie) but if I buy Rinascimento, can I implement this to the instrument libraries of my programs like Logic Pro x or FL Studio? I have made some Midi files and I just want to switch the instruments with one from the Rinascimento. Would that be possible?
@FluffyAudio
@FluffyAudio 4 жыл бұрын
@@MyKillyy thank you for your kind interest! To use Rinascimento you need the full version of Kontakt 5 (or 6). The free version that you can download on Native Instruments website would only run the library for 15 minutes. Then, yes, normally you would need a bit of editing inside your DAW to get the most out of sampled instruments, because features like dynamic control and legato need to be taken on account when doing midi mockups.
@MyKillyy
@MyKillyy 4 жыл бұрын
@@FluffyAudio Hi, As mentioned before I'm a newbie in this stuff :( So I need Kontakt 5 or 6 to use Rinascimento. Only then I can integrate all the sampled instruments in other audio editor, such as Logic Prp X or FL Studio, as a VST plug-in. Is that correct?
@thisislance
@thisislance 4 жыл бұрын
@@MyKillyy This is correct. Logic, for example, would need you to add an instance (or more) of Kontakt 5 (or higher). From that instance, you'd add the Fluffy Audio instrument of choice. Think of Logic or FL (your "DAW") like an operating system, such as Windows or macOS. Kontakt 5+ would be, for example, like a Media Player. Fluffy's instruments, then, would be like a video file you play using the aforementioned software. It's nesting layers of software... Logic -> Kontakt 5 -> a Rinascimento instrument; similar to macOS -> Media Player -> some video file. Note that Kontakt 5+ is a very common requirement among virtual instruments. Some companies are heading toward their own hosts/players (cutting out the "middle man" between your DAW's MIDI instructions and their library), but the Kontakt format has a ridiculous amount of options should you choose to expand your overall library after Rinascimento. Now, I just gotta decide if I should use my cash on this plus the Woodwind bundle, or on Dominus Pro! Either way, I'm excited for my first @FluffyAudio purchase.

Why not use real Renaissance or Baroque music? The one you chose is fake old music.
@FluffyAudio
@FluffyAudio 4 жыл бұрын
Hello Francisco! If you look through the video and out demos there is plenty of Reiinassance and Baroque music, from authors like Pachelbel, Storace, Mainerio, Balbastre. Anyway the library is aimed at both composers looking to recreate believable Reiinassance music and film composers who want to add a medieval flavour to their music.
