I'd forgotten all about this ride! I used to love it! One time, I almost tore my left hand clean off on a swing ride by not KEEPING MY ARMS INSIDE THE RIDE. This rule has a gravely serious purpose, and I almost demonstrated that purpose in grotesque graphicness. I was a young teen at the time, and I absent-mindedly and cheerfully stuck my hand out past the barrier of the cars to show a peace sign, pulled it in casually, and not a second later, the abutment came flying past. One of my first very sobering moments in life. Of course, the ride operator shot me one hell of a look. Even at that time, I felt really, really sorry for the poor guy; I almost created a horrifying disaster on his watch!

When I was around 8 years olds this ride came to my carnival. There wasn't any harness to secure you in just a belt and arm cushion that locked into place when pushed down. When the ride would come to the top it would stop in mid air. Everyone would dangle their arms in the air but not me. I could feel myself slipping and started to scream mercifully. Their were two rings on each side and forced myself upwards as I felt gravity pulling me down. Long story short I will never ride on this ride again because of this experience. A couple years ago they put a cage on the roller coaster so if you do fall out you won't plummet to your death

I get the butterflies in my stomach from watching this because I've been on this ride so many times and I know how scary it is! Especially since I'm terrified of heights and the first time I went on this ride there was this really nice girl who guided me through it and it was an amazing experience! I went on this when I was 12 and almost fucking died. It was different than this one. The top was like a canopy and it was older. It didn't have those heavy duty holders that go over your shoulders. When me and my friend sat down we realized there was no seatbelts in our row. They didn't hear us yelling so they started the ride and we had to hold onto the poles for dear life. If we let go we would have surely died or been severely injured 😮😵

I’ve only rode ones where you had to hold onto bars and you have that bar at your waist to keep you inside and your in a little cage thing and they had padding at the top for your head. The guy kept us upside down so long my friend and I (along with other people) were able to have full blown conversations with the people in the front of us and behind us. The one I rode at my state fair didn’t have anything above your head so you could quite literally fall out. The only thing keeping you in were your knees and your arm strength.

I would do this if it wasn't a carnival ride. The thing with me is that since carnival rides are put up in such a hurry, so many things could go wrong. Like that ride in Ohio (I think) it was called The Fireball or something. But yeah. That was in a fair. Like I said earlier, I hate carnival rides. This is why I... 1- Stay on the ground rides at carnivals 2- Only go to amusement parks

Maya being “out of the seat” is perfectly safe. The restraints are designed to hold you in even if there is some space between you and the restraint. If you were upside down, this is called hang time, if you weren’t it’s called airtime
