When you installed the ring cam on soffit did you just attach it to the soffit itself or did you put something behind soffit to attach the camera to?

Hi Ed! Yes, the unit was so light I actually just attached it to the soffit. Truthfully, it would have been better to attach it to something solid, but it has been hanging since November 2019 and I have never had an issue. The only thing that got annoying about this device was getting out a ladder and removing the battery to charge it every couple of months. So I ended up buying the solar panel charging panel this summer and I haven't had to think about it since then. I hope this helps!

Great video as always! I’m interested in a review after a few months to hear which cameras you like best. I haven’t see the Eufy cameras. That battery life is impressive. What would the facial recognition be useful for?

Thank you friend! So I like them both for different reasons. I'm a huge fan of the local storage, longer battery life, ease of installation, and video quality of the Eufy (just to name a few). I like the Ring camera because it works on the same app as my other Ring devices (will be posting those videos in the coming weeks) and because it has a bright LED light that comes on when it detects motion, and chipmunks, cats, birds, etc. easily get caught in motion. The Eufy can be set to catch those things too but can also be adjusted to just recognize people if you want it. The way I understand it, the facial recognition feature allows you to save people that you know and it will then only alert you if it doesn't recognize the individual. But you don't have to use it. Basically, it can help cut down on notifications. Check this out about halfway down the page: www.eufylife.com/products/variant/eufycam/T88011D1 Thanks for watching the video my friend!

So you recharge the battery every time its drained or have you hard wired it?
