Range: southern Madagascar
Habitat: open forest and scrubby habitat
Size: 6 pounds (2.2kg) in weight, tails can be 2 feet (61cm) long
Diet: fruits, leaves, flowers, bark, sap, insects, etc.
Threats: fossas, domestic cats, civets, snakes, brown lemurs
Lifespan: 16 years expected, 33 years reached in captivity

The Ring-Tailed Lemur (Lemur catta) is split into three subspecies, the Southern Ring-Tailed Lemur (Lemur catta catta), the Eastern Ring-Tailed Lemur (Lemur catta cinereobrunneus), and the Western Ring-Tailed Lemur (Lemur catta procyonoides), though, other classifications can regard them as separate species.
