Good Job. One thing I like is the different distances you shoot on camera. Thanks

Let’s get this guy over 100k, great work as always, especially for a Canadian gun channel.

Based on the many tests I’ve seen of lower quality 22 LR ammunition, it really seems to me that the fact that it’s not manufactured to the same consistency standards of the better stuff is why in group after group we’ll see several shots go into one hole, but then the “flyers” that can go anywhere. And that’s evidently why it’s less expensive: The manufacturers don’t have to spend as much money ensuring consistency and can charge less. Even though I have seen enough tests to usually correctly predict how a particular load will perform, it’s always good to see actual results, and especially with different rifles that are less commonly used. When I shoot the same load myself, the results of other tests that are conducted properly, like yours, can give me a pretty valid idea of how my own results measure up.

I wonder if the BXR might do better with that “tank” break on the barrel as well with shooting the CCI SV ammo. Watching the chrono data, seems that any shots below 1000 fps, would tend to fall low of the POA, and those higher were above. You were right about wind effect at 50 yards for the shooting today, it was minor to none for side to side deviations. I would attribute vertical stringing to either variation in ammo MV and/or barrel harmonics and recoil (however so slight). I did notice the rifle recoil until you started to preload the bipod and bury the stock into the new rear bag. Maybe some grip tape between bag and stock contact to help hold it to reduce group variation? Usually, people load their chassis up with weights to mitigate recoil effects to minimize group deviations. Thanks for another day in 31 videos for 31 days in December!

I have the Bergara BXR and the Ruger Custom Shop 10-22 competition. I give the accuracy edge to the Ruger but the BXR is right there. My main complaint with the BXR is the magazine release. This seems to be common. I'm not sure if I have tested CCI Standard Velocity in them.
@ron85665 күн бұрын
Two things with the Bergara - 1) you may have a headspace issue not an ammo issue. 2) it looks like some of the rounds are tumbling before they hit the target.

Great video. I have the BXR with the carbon fiber barrel and it has been a decent one for target shooting. I have not used CCI Standard on it.👍🏽

I'm curious to see the Bergara with some better ammo. 🤔 Thanks again for doing these vids Ryan! Did you put the tank on the Ruger after the horrible video ? That would be very cool of that thing worked 💪

Ya I did just to see what would happen and it seemed to help quite a bit. I’ve gotta say I was very disappointed in both of these rifles performance. I think I’ll stick to my bolt action rifles.

Definitely need to add a shim to the end of the forends. I used sorbothene on one and glass bedding on another. Both made an improvement.

Video idea suggestion: Do a comparison with all your rimfire rifles shooting them in the best condition possible at 50 100 and 200y, using the best ammo/rifle combination, if you like this idea you can also go further sorting the ammo by weight. That requires some effort but it would be very interesting

Dude! Not what I expected at all. I was really close to getting the BXR. When I called the gun shop, it was already gone. You'd think anything with a nice bull barrel would do better, all the failure to fires would make me insane. Sorry you're having all those issues. What about the new laws there. Will they affect the ownership of your semi-autos? Folks are talking some crazy 💩 lately!

Ya my x95 556 and my Gsg 16 are now prohibited for now! Until the conservatives get re elected they plan on making everything better again. So we can only 🙏 pray. We can’t even buy more hand guns anymore
@chrislang56594 күн бұрын
@BROTUNED how do you like the GSG? I have a very early GSG MP5-22. Looks and feels like the real thing. Only problem is that it has never made it through one full mag without some sort of malfunction. Failure to extract, failure to feed, failure to fire, stovepipe. That's within the first five rounds!😅 Ive tried as many different rounds trying to get it to run as I have finding the most accurate ammo for my 597. That's a lot!😅🤣😂

@BROTUNED4 күн бұрын
Yes I was very unhappy with the results.
@jinks64105 күн бұрын
I get same results with CCI SV. It is the most accurate plinker round and good enough for training. You can't trust it to make first round hits or hold a good group with an entire box. You really have to lot test and even weigh them to be consistant. My go to round 90% of the time
@TheRedneckPreppy5 күн бұрын
You need to put a big sign on that BXR for the future with "No SV!" on it :-) Speaking of CCI, you should give a run through to some of their Green Tag. Shot nicely out of my CZ 457 Varmint MTR but it's *way* too expensive for what it is. I think I paid CAD$36-ish for 100 earlier this year.
@JohnGallagher-j9o4 күн бұрын

It seems like the Bergara is delivering higher velocity the summary will tell when you compare the two.
@perdidocamaronero54005 күн бұрын
Whenever your chronograph recorded velocities over 1000fps the corresponding impacts grouped together more so than the extreme lows and highs. Speeds of 1000 about 1010 seemed to group better. I know it's a pisser I have the same results with low end ammunition.
@perdidocamaronero54005 күн бұрын
With the Ruger, sorry I typed this while the video was in progress.
@John-Nel5 күн бұрын
I think both those barrels have a tight bore as the velocities of 1011fps and 1014fps are way below the average other rifles give with the same ammo. My rifle with the same ammo gives a average of 1110fps, that is about 100 fps more and it shoots the CCI Std Vel very precise. Your CZ gave an average of 1087fps in the video with sorted CCI Std Vel. The Tikka gave 1043fps and the B14 1073fps. I wonder what influence the tight bore barrels have on the precision ?
@BROTUNED4 күн бұрын
That’s a very good question! I’m going to try and find out.
@kenpickett93174 күн бұрын
I get similar results from my SAKO P94 with this stuff. CCI std is good practice ammo, but you’re not going to win any comps with it.
@BROTUNED4 күн бұрын
Definitely not. But it does not bad for the price

It looks like you found a load that does fairly well in the Ruger. I would spend a little time looking at my suggestions for improving Ruger 10/22 accuracy that I sent on the previous video (Where the Ruger did very poorly) as you may be able to get the gun to shoot more consistently with those tips.
