The whole time during Jacob's note, I was thinking "Forget smiling! Breathe, dude!" Lol I love Ringmasters. Sweethearts and very talented. Not to mention attractive.

Not only was Jacob's post crazy, but that overtone at the end was just...yeah...wow

Ian Blegen That'd be Rasmus singing!
@nocluewhatimdoing45439 жыл бұрын
Alex Ginglen I was talking about the G5 overtone. I doubt Rasmus would be singing that high in one of their arrangements.

+Ian Blegen If you check out their Mill's Bros Medley at the 2014 AIC you'll see Rasmus hit a very high falsetto much like to this G5 overtone at the end because Jakob posts his normal tenor note. He doesn't do it often...Just to remind us how badass he is really. He has a tremendous voice

Love Ringmasters! Love that they were true trailblazers in making our art form truly international. Love this song, but one quibble. The original Tom Gentry arrangement featured a simple, yet powerful tag that gives the audience "just enough". And allows that last chord to continue ringing through the house long after the voices have stopped. Ringmasters offer a somewhat over complicated tag that takes away from the original and almost heads downward over the peak. To the point the audience -- while appreciating the singing -- was given too much. But that's me, and artistic simplicity is my tendency.

At 1:27 totally off-key!
@patrickguyum5 жыл бұрын
I don't understand what you think is "totally off key" about that chord. Maybe you're calling out of tune, which it isn't. In technicality, sure its out of the key signature but barbershop and jazz cycles and modulates so much that you simply wouldn't be in the style if you stayed in the same key. That entire set of phrases is super crunchy harmonically, with a lot of modulating key shifts, but that's part of the arrangement whether or not you like this performance.
