I really like this, but for me I just can’t get away from the fact that its pure mbv wholesale, I mean it’s not even like it’s ‘dangerously close’ it’s absolute pretty much! I can only think bands must sometimes think ‘if we do it and go with it enough maybe people won’t hear where we’ve lifted this from then people will attribute the (in this case Kevin Shields guitar swells/ Belinda butchers dreamy indistinct vocals) musical discovery to US!!! I sometimes think if bands can get away with it for long enough they actually believe they’ve come up with this sound/creativity themselves!!! unfortunately these guys have made a poor choice in copying a sound that is so distinctively recognisable that there’s no concealing it I’m afraid. I do like elements of this band but guys please work on finding your OWN voice like your influences did. Picasso famously said “bad artists copy, great artists steal”.
