The only reason Pete became a Beatle is because the Beatles needed a drummer to go to Hamburg in 1960.People forget that a lot of times Pete was a no-show and Ringo sit in with the Beatles when Pete did not turn up.The only difference in August 1962 is that he would become a permanent member of The Beatles.

@@MichaelLantz Ringo always clicked well in the company of the other 3, whereas Pete had, from what I've read, a strained relationship with George & Paul. George and Paul had a very close bond back in those early years, so Pete mainly interacted with John. It was George and Paul who pushed hardest to get Pete replaced, and George ended up with a black eye from a Pete fan for his part.

Ringo was loved by the rest of the Beatles and by all who met him. Like the rest of the Beatles he has charm and a wonderful sense of humor.

i personally disagree with people who say he wasnt that amazing at drumming. He changed the way drummers hold drumsticks, he came up with alot of basic drum rifs that people use today. He could sing, drum and smile at the same time! also, the unique thing about him is, if you played just his drum beat, you would know what song it is, whereas a lot of drummers couldnt do that. also, if you asked a top drummer to play 'a day in the life' they wouldnt know where to start.

Just makes me think, percentagewise, how Ringo and George were screwed over by Lennon and McCartney. Ringo was the coolest Beatle. One song per album left us feeling shorted!

Ringo kept the Beatles together 2 extra years. He was the glue that kept them together. Also the 0nly drummer who could understand 3 very talented but ego centric musicians to continue to feel good about themselves, yes he was that talented

If John Lennon and George Harrison were here, they would most likely say how this song is so fitting for today's time and that Ringo was not given enough glory and credit that he deserved and that he should have been lead vocal in more songs. A true genius. That's my thoughts though
