Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power review of Season 2 Episode 6, where Amazon destroy Celebrimbor, Sauron and even their own character Adar. No-ones character motivations make sense, Adar is following a plan he knows was created for him by his own enemy. But while Miriel replicates the Acolyte, The directors are so amazed because they put someone in a bit of water, and Durin cries his eyes out. You can understand the pride everyone has for this episode. Episode 7 next week will be the Siege of Eregion with a full episode long battle. You know... blacksmiths are called that because they burn coal to get their forges hot enough to metal iron and had carbon impurities in the metal that they hammered out, both of which were black and particles of which could end up on them. Whitesmith, who made jewelry, were called so since typically they worked with tins and silvers which left a more whitish residue, and their furnaces didn't have to get anywhere near as hot. They have no excuse for having black dust on their faces beyond not washing up. And while Disparu is being somewhat unfair, as it requires a lot of skill most in terms of precision of to make jewelry, it's not physically demanding. Regardless... they do suck at their job because the rings they make look horrible and cheap.

The whole show is full of horrifically bad writing like that - the best writing is the stuff they lifted wholesale from Tolkien himself but the very fact they steal lines and insert them so clumsily and crudely to completely different characters shows that the 'writers' have no Creativity and can't even understand what made the lines so great in the first place - and in fact cheapens the entire franchise with their horrifically forced inclusion to this 'series'.

I loved how he claimed to have 'used' it's power against Sauron - when all he did was turn it upside down and use the pointy ends. Achieving the same something that any pointy sharp object (like a sword, dagger, axe, spear) would have achieved. On top of the fact that it shouldn't have been IN middle-earth at that time due as someone else points out having been beaten into a collar and returned to Aman when the Valar left after having defeated Morgoth for the final time.

What is even funnier is I figured out Amazon Prime is padding the numbers of views for this show intentionally and it still has terrible numbers. I fell asleep trying to watch one of the episodes last week and woke up a couple hours later to find the episode was playing again. I thought it was weird but dozed back off for a couple more hours and it was playing again when I woke up for the second time several hours afterwards. I thought it was a glitch because normally Amazon will start playing another recommended show or movie. But they kept replaying the newest episode over and over while I slept. I tested my theory this week, watched the full episode and patiently waited for the end to see what happened... as soon as the episode was over, it restarted. I had to manually change it to something else. Very suspicious that it only happens with this car wreck of a show which they are struggling to keep alive. Every other show or movie I watch it instantly starts playing another recommended movie or show, not restarting the same episode to try and fudge the view numbers on their own failing mockery of a beloved IP.

Yep, there is also the fact that it is only when Sauron puts on the one ring that the elves who are wearing all of he rings of power realised what was happened and hid them all away which is why than Sauron sacked Eregion and captured Celebrimbor to recapture the rings. Celebrimbor would than under torture tell him where the nine and seven are, but he would not say about the three. He was than likely skinned and turned into a flag. Sauron after eventually regaining the rings than hands them to dwarves and humans, as a back-up plan. He only wanted to corrupt the elves at the start but had to switch up his plans. These show writers couldn't even be bothered to read a basic wiki-page on the second age.

Well Galadriel came to Middle-earth seeking power. That's why she was banished from Valinor and refusing the RIng from Frodo was her ultimate test. The "secret fire" refers to the fire of Eru Illuvatar himself, and Gandalf bring a servant of it means he's either referring to being a servant of God or that he's bearing the Ring of Fire that Cirdan gave him when he first arrived in Middle Earth. This show reminds me of an experience in life before uni. I was just back from the world of 81mm tubes, holes in the ground, SQ and all that stuff, staying at my parents place en route to going back to uni. My sister and her gang, grad school arts, were arguing so loudly about a canoe trip they were trying to organize that they woke me up. This show is like that. The characters appear to be so incompetent that any small task appears to be beyond their capability. I recall the uni group included a girl in knee high moccasins that were really just a pair of suede socks. That reminded me of the ridiculous costumes in this show.

Such a shame too, because the actress Morfydd Clark is perfect for a female elf. Perfect pale white skin . Like Blanchett and Tyler and Lilly . Or any Japanese girl. LOL I think Clark was perfectly cast, but the script murders the Galadriel character. Also Morfydd Clark, has never insulted the old Tolkien fanbase like so many of this new production cast and crew have. I respect that.

From what little I've seen in interviews, Morfydd is quite a canny lass, too, seeming quite funny and erudite. One wonders if her agent may have done her dirty with this. Dunno, just a guess. Cynthia Addai-Robinson who plays Miriel seems a bit wasted in this too. She was so good as Naevia in the Spartacus series.

The theory about who Adar is is Maeglin who caused the fall of the hidden elf kingdom of Gondolin. He does fit the profile. They don't have the rights to the name and character so they created Adar. Basically Maeglin survived the fall over Gondolin's wall and fire.

So you've got a choice. Make your main villain as Machiavellian as possible getting them to twist the minds of everyone around them to accomplish their evil deeds.
