Thanks! I've built a few cars myself, so I appreciate the hours and money that goes into a build like this. The whole point of this series is that I drive one lap in the car. There will be no lap records, I have nothing to prove to anybody about my driving ability. I just want to share some of these awesome cars that we all love to see.

His 996 was superb, I was lucky enough to meet him and sit in it. He hasn't disappointed with his Alfa. I absolutely love how there is surface rust on a few bits and its dirty. Just shows it's used and not just a show piece.

Lovely bit of controlled hard driving. He should take all the Praises he gets. He has put his own twist into Alfa romeo History. What a Car. More rebound control on the front shocks and its there. Great stuff.

In the 60 the Japanese copied from Alfa. Mix gas in the oil to remove the viscosity. Instead of the roll bars put chains to hold the wheels up.

Very well made car. I like it (although I would have done it with an Alfa Romeo engine). I particularly like the gear / differential solution. I could well imagine that for my 105 conversion. What is your gear ratio in the differential and in 4/5 gear?

This is running a 4.7 (we talk about it on the walk around) and it's hitting 230-ish kmh on the revlimiter in 6th. Rich also has other ratios.

@@BTGDale I own an Alfa, it's not worth anything and it's only a 1.6 but the way that little twin spark sounds change as the revs go and down is like music, you don't hear that in a VW or any of the other makes they just make engine sounds not sounds that speak to the soul. That's why this car wouldn't do it for me like a car with an Alfa engine, you literally don't want to out the radio on in them.

Such a terrific car. I’ve just done a similar thing, albeit on a far smaller budget, with my 71 BMW 1602. It’s also sub 900kg with a high revving 16v four pot on ITB, although it only makes around 180 - 190bhp but it sounds just as good. It’s also short geared with a nice mechanical feel. Hopefully I’ll get it out to the Nordschliefe later this year. #bmw16v02

@@BTGDale I’m getting a full cage at the end of the month and I’m just putting some miles on it now. I’ve had some issues with the LSD but apart from that it’s a lot of fun. Certainly a bit livelier than it was with the original 80 odd bhp it came with.
