0:53, I see that the log periodic antenna is losing elements. That was a good antenna years ago. I wonder what happened to the commercial grade TV antenna that was mounted on a mast on top of the building? That diskcone was not much use. It did not pick up signals very well for some reason. That green colored building over to the right of the tan building is the original Livermore Monitoring Station. It was used for storage after the tan building was built in the mid 1980's. The old building has been there since the 1940's when the monitoring station was moved from Hayward, CA. Looking at google earth, I think one of the massive unassembled log periodic HF antenna is still there to the left (east) of the old building. There was once two of them lying on the ground there. If I remember correctly what I was told, the HF log periodic antenna had full wave elements. I think they were supposed to be 80 foot wide by more than 100 foot long when they were mounted on a mast. If you use google earth and search for "Site R", Raven Rock, scroll the time back to 2007 and you can see one there.

2:31, the interferometer was chosen to replace the wullenweber antenna array because they are better, more accurate, controlled by computers, and allows upwards of 1000 LOB's per second. Not sure about less maintenance. The old wullenwenbers had a large goniometers in the small building that turned at 70 RPM's, producing a propeller pattern display on a CRT. There was no sense of direction for the signal. You could also remotely turn the goniometer manually (electronically) to get an aural null on the signal. The aural null was more accurate but mostly used for weak signals or signals located on a noisy frequency.

5000 miles with accuracy half a degree 😮, if that's true that's amazing, I can imagine how it works, stand targets in a circle and fire a bullet through any two of them... by the phase angle comparison of the signal on the 2 antennas you can see which was hit first, giving you direction and bearing information 🤔..

All forms of morons have been hassling him, flat earthers are a baffling bunch, the day and night cycle completely destroys their flat earth theory but they continue on. Just wait until he tackles HAARP (he might avoid it), tech minds did a video on it and the comments went into total chaos.

So a month ago I jumped in the car and headed to Newquay (Holywell) to have a look at the radio station, my car played up so headed back to Devon, the following week having confirmed my recovery cover (being a mechanic not fixed the car) I headed back on the most windy weekend and omg how Holywell never blew away I don't know I was hanging onto the fence ! not only that one of my fave KZbin channels from Dover in Kent was staying in the camp site below and she had know idea she was staying under a top secret radio station!

I get jewelry ideas looking at these patterns, Electronics and invisible signals are endlessly inspiring- communication and Mercury, I love it. 9:40 - I realize I'm just blue skying here but instead of a tacky watch I'd love to get a jewelry representation of this if I worked there for 20 years, something cool in precious materials worth some money would mean a lot more to me. The outro music is really nice!

Watch it Lewis… with that recent spate of angry viewer and that one non viewer… stating that the planet is indeed a globe, and not a massive plate flying upwards in a never ending ascent of gravity creating intensity, could well spur yet more spectards into action and try to leave mean words in the comments! In seriousness, awesome video mate. Very interesting subject matter. Must spend an evening having a mosey in google earth looking for them. 🤘🏻🤔🇬🇧

Note to others: Replace every insrance of "Japanese military" in the video with "Japan Self-Defence Force" because the Japanese are very adamant that their forces, third largest in the world, are purely for self-defence. It was set up this way by General McArthur to make sure Japan never aspire to be a military power again, but when the Cold War started heating up the US reneged and pumped a lot of money into the JSDF as bulwark against the Soviets. Today the JSDF is a military force in all but name. There are recent movements from the ultranationalists to amend Article 9 of the Japanese constitution to make the JSDF a proper military force again. Constitutionalists are vehemently against this.

Very interesting. The smaller seven (7) element groups do not have an internal screen. I guess the HF signal passes from front to back of phase shift triangulation. When is the positive going signal on the front antenna and when is it on the back antenna or a side antenna. There are also long Beverage antenna's for over the horizon HF and low band VHF radar in China. Do we still need them? Everyone is still using the same frequencies and there are not enough SATCOM lines for everyone. Besides "it is only a Russian fishing trawler. What harm could they be doing? Besides it is not a fishing season so the Russians aren't even taking fish "
