Ringwood is an eastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 29 km (18 mi) east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Maroondah local government area. Ringwood recorded a population of 19,144 at the 2021 census.
Ringwood has many parks and reserves, most notably Ringwood Lake, an 8.5-hectare park is used for various recreational activities which includes a lake with bridge, sound shell, mining history display, playground, picnic shelters, barbecues and a bushland walking circuit.
"Everything at Your Fingertips"
Ringwood really has everything that you ever need. Eastland has almost every major retail giant, plus high end fashion outlets as well as the more budget friendly shops, fresh food market, beauty retailers, entertainment (movies, bowling etc), fast food & restaurants. Easy access to public transport from anywhere with the train station in the heart of Ringwood as well as buses to any area of Melbourne, there is also usually a taxi or two waiting near the station if you need to get somewhere quickly. Access to the Eastern Freeway and Eastlink is easy, which will take you out to the Mornington Peninsula or Monash freeway within minutes. Plenty of good schools around to choose from, as there are many young families in the area. There’s even a few nightclubs for those that like the nightlife. I have grown up in the Eastern suburbs, and will never move anywhere else, Ringwood has it all!!

It is not surprising to see why Ringwood is one of the fastest growing suburbs in Eastern Melbourne. It is home to an array of Shopping Centres, especially the popular Eastland Shopping Centre. It offers a variety of eateries and a wonderful entertainment precinct. It has a lovely modern library adjacent and the convenience of the Ringwood Railway Station. Ringwood offers well-integrated sports facilities and clubs such as the Aquatic and Leisure Centre- Aquanation. Other attraction is the Crocs Playcentre with activities for children of all ages. Ringwood is also home to several reserves. Popularly is the Ringwood Lake which joins the Mullum Mullum Creek trail which is great for bike rides and walking trails. There is also a wide choice of schools in the area. Most commonly are the Ringwood Secondary College, Aquinas College and Yarra Valley Grammar. Ringwood is only 23km east of the city and has easy access to the Eastlink.
"Great infrastructure"
Having grown up in Ringwood North, I have personally seen the changes and development within the City of Maroondah.
Ringwood , Ringwood North and Ringwood East now have great infrastructure and have seen some great capital gains in the real estate sector. Ringwood central in particular have had many redevelopments and rezoning for high density developments.
Surrounded by great schools, (public and private), the redevelopment of Eastland shopping centre and the opening of the Eastlink freeway has made the City of Maroondah a satellite city!
Eastland shopping centre is modern, big and filled with great retail stores, restaurants and cafes!
Easy access to the Eastlink with 35mins into the CBD or the other way within 70 mins to Mornington Peninsula.
Ringwood and surrounding suburbs are now multicultural and affluent.
