Demko makes that early second period breakaway save against Pastrnak as well but he would be able to do it in a way that didn't cause him to slide completely out of his crease forcing his teammates to quickly cover the front of the net. Lankinen has been solid, but he's never been anything but a back up until now. Demko has proven that he can be solid across 60+ starts over several seasons, Lankinen still has to prove that.

They didn't challenge for a high stick, they challenged cause the puck went off of Garland's glove, which they say is a hand pass. It was a deflection off of Garland's glove (not even an intentional deflection). Those should count, but the league is inconsistent and have called similar plays as glove passes even though there was no intent to pass with the glove.

Tough game to watch, VAN got caved in, especially in the 3rd. Reminiscent of playoffs last spring where somehow they won games with like 12 shots. Joshua looks slow and tentative, lack of training camp really evident. EP40 is fading into the background again. Soucy looked better than usual for this season.
