My friend had mostly potted stats but wasn't wearing nichol vc and only had 11k hp (mine had no pots and 15k hp). Because I only had access to 85% atk/mag break (squall SLB doesn't do those), the boss on T3 hit for 12k and downed my friend rinoa. Could have finished in 4 turns otherwise. This fight is really just on the edge of viability if you don't have the right stuff. (Solved by adding esper Shellga on top of selphie's genmit.)

Spent the 5k for Rinoa's bundle. Now at +2 she rolled the FF8 content easily. Its necessary for using her.

Used Rinoa's Meteor(Angel Wing) skill on turns 3&4 and managed to clear in 4 turns with ex2 Rinoa and ex0 Laguna(with some LB fill for LB on turn 2)

FF8 has a problem with breakers. I don't have Laguna for on-demand 87/88%, the next closest thing is nva squall's 87% SLB that comes in late and only lasts 2 turns. After that you're down to generic 85% breaks from anyone. That said, your run demonstrates that the 1 year old NV Rinoa somehow pushes out 3x as much damage as the new free Edea, and it's possible to bring a friend, so I imagine this will be doable with a friend. Going to set up my friend unit right now.

Selphie's moveset becomes a slot machine after the first 2 turns. There is only a 35% probability that she will have Wall available on T3 to rebuff it. Laguna can take over using that one old TMR for 40% genmit, but that'll delay his SLB.

Yeah I was wondering why I didn't have it reran a bunch and haven't got it lol. Gonna try using laguna with calamity border. Idk if thats one your talking about its 40% resistance to all elements but no migrations

I was thinking of Orran's 40% "Heaven's Guidance", but it is single-target. For aoe we only have 10% "Cradle of Horns". Hm. Well, you can always keep rerunning until the skill shows up. An alterantive I tried was guarding on T3, but then I came short on damage. But if you have Laguna and his breaks, maybe just casting 30% shellga as a replacement could be enough?

I started ex1 Rinoa in the base form with Saintly Castle and Miracle Shoes. Cast her Magnus to fill LB on turn 1 and LB turn 2. Laguna equip him with Dark Breaker and cast dark breaker on turn 2

​​@@champepang6824 you can try a trick selphie remedy only benits her with some lb fill for party so on turn 1. You can do everyone else first then do wall boost and then her entrust to ex 1 rinoa last then shift lb with rinoa and that should help damage. I did have paw and call on selphie but I didn't see her attack so I gave her butterfly knife for evade to make room for call materia and then aerith choker i just replaced . Gl

@@martyrodriguez1524 thanks but Rinoa is all set with damage. I was giving the original commenter what I did. I can fill Rinoa's LB on turn 1 being in the base form with Dragon Brush, Call of the Wild, and Mood Maker

How do you cast wall using selphie on turn 3?

her special skills all randomly unlock each turn due to her slots mechanic. its pure RNG... i should have mentioned that in the video. its just all luck sadly :(

Thanks for the guide this worked great. My ex1 Rinoa and Angelo (fully crowned and potted) 0.6 billion damage, my edea 9 billion damage, friend ex 2 rinoa and angelo 13 billion. My Rinoa is so weak that I ended up mostly using her for support and summoning Diabolos. When Rinoa is only ex1 it's difficult to get that LB filled in time for the damage rotation.

Weird... my Kiros can't use Resonance Wall on turn 1 (says it's only available on turn 10) and Selphie can't use Wall on turn 3 because it's not available.

resonance is only available turn 1 if using his stmr. it should be fine if you dont have it, just equip some auto-mit items. wall is a skill that is rng unlocked per turn. its just rng if its up or not :(

@@Sinzar I never used mitigation and had no problems despite running this trial several times trying to get a strong enough carry to do this in 5 turn. I don't think you need it. My Kiros isn't terribly strong 3300 def and 1300 spr. I did give him power cut though which feels like cheating.
