One thing that I've found helps me if I'm even slightly tempted to by some new gear, is to acknowledge that if I were to buy a new piece of kit, it would drain my time away to learn it and integrate it with my existing setup. That tends to finish the mental loop pretty quickly. I love just being able to turn on my gear and know what it does pretty well, and how to get a decent (for me) result from it.

"What an i doing? What am I here for?" Personally, it's literally just to have fun. Sometimes new things are fun. Not getting caught up in new hardware needlessly, and understanding that repeat arguments over said gear is not worth the negative energy. Get rid of those sources of negative energy, whether that's discord channels, KZbin channels, or frustrating hardware. Share your joy, share your fun, but only if it's fun to do so. I'm thankfully not trying to make a living in this hobby, and reading it as just a hobby, because work being work can make us sharp and tired. Good soap box Mr. Wabbit. All you can control is yourself. 🎉

If it’s not fun, don’t do it. Be the kid totally engrossed talking to themself, playing a game no one but them understands. At one with the moment, not existing outside of it. Zen cow hath spoken 🧘🐄 😂😂🙏.
