Oh my... This Painting Technique is so Satisfying! / Smooth Sunset with Transparent Landscape Layers

You have to follow what you feel ❤ Why this change? How did it happen? It all started with a road trip through Europe, where the diverse landscapes captivated our hearts. When returning home, an old neck injury came back, bringing with it almost daily headaches. To find relief, we began walking, a lot - exploring the beautiful Dutch landscapes around us and finding peace in nature. During this time, I felt a strong pull toward landscape art, especially watercolor landscapes. I found myself binge watching artists working with acrylic washes. That’s when it clicked-this is what I need to paint now. And since I'm no stranger to raw canvas and acrylic washes, I could dive in immediatly. While my botanical paintings will always be a part of me, I'm now on a journey to explore the connection between landscapes and botanicals. It's a work in progress, and I'm loving every step of it. Changing direction is never easy, but I've learned that you must follow what you feel. Rinske, Rinske, Rinske... Just when I think I know your art, you blow me away with this. If this is the start of a new journey I am absolutely on board. I cannot wait for what comes next and this is an amazing start (personally I would have stayed away from green but hey it works!). One quick tip for using masking tape, if you are ever looking for a really sharp line. Seal the tape with clear gesso and let it dry. The tape peels off razor sharp. Onwards and upwards my friend

I am so enjoying watching your process on the landscape paintings! Love the soft colors and the raw areas. Love that the landscape is hinted and the mind fills in the rest. Just wonderful! I enjoy the poured paintings, and the swashy botanical stuff, but its more exciting to me to watch the scene develop and to see the colors become a beautiful landscape. So soothing. As much as I liked your other work, I felt that they were not something I would want to look at every day in my house. This dreamy landscape is exactly what I like to see.
