I'm from "Rio Grande do Sul", the land sung in this song. You would be happy to know that our culture has many stories about pirates, explorer sailors, tales about treasures (some found, others still hidden), love, marriages and families .

I loved it! (As expected) It's so good! Rio Grande has been stuck in my head a lot since last stream, and I expect it to stay there for quite some time now. The harmonies on this are amazing, they go straight into my heart and make it all warm and happy. Songs I want.. John Paul Jones, Fire marengo, Old bloke, Antiguan graveyard, Paddy West, Polly on the shore, One more pull.. Basically all the lovely songs you sing on the streams. Whatever you sing, it tends to sound amazing.

Always enjoy hearing you gents sing. I came across another channel, covering shanties of yours, but he does all the harmonization himself and... it just sounds like 3 of him singing the same lines. Not everybody is as vocally talented as Michael Jackson was and shanties definitely require, in my opinion, harmonization with folks that don't app sound exactly the same!

Pretty much just creative freedom in the song. Majority of versions going back with it have this pronunciation. Similar to in Drunken Sailor, where people often sing "Earl-eye" in the morning, instead of "Early"
