Rio turns 16 in just 12 days as I write this. Amazing potential. I like how he controls the ball with pace, acceleration and agility. He draws in two or three defenders that he can hold off, which naturally leaves space for other Liverpool attackers to exploit. Looking forward to seeing him develop.

Your competitors are signing and chasing quality of the level of Yoro, Savio and Nico Williams. And you want to tell me this is what Liverpool found on the transfer market? This lad won't break into most mid-table EPL first teams. I was hoping and praying for something different with respect to transfers under Slot. With an aged Salah, we should be looking at quality the level of Leao or Kavaratschelia. Even if we want to keep with lesser priced tags, we should be looking at the level of Yildiz and Dario Osario. This guy will be another one of the many who come to just pass through.

If he continues to run around like a headless chicken, he'll either end up getting clattered by some agricultural knuckle-dragger of a defender, or he'll burn himself out by the time he's 21. Going on mazy dribbling runs might excite crowds, but if there's no end product, what is the point? Arne Slot and his coaching team in the academy have a lot of polishing to do on him before he gets anywhere near playing with the big boys, that's for sure!
