The Rio Seco waterfall located in the Mathura National Park is rumored to be the second most beautiful waterfall in Trinidad and Tobago.
The hike starts at the end of the Road, you can either park at the end of the road or pay to use a private carpark.
Once you start the trail the walk is between 45 minutes to an hour. There are numerous spots for pausing and taking pictures.
if youre not accustomed to hiking the trail does have an uphill part that will give your legs a work out, but nothing is wrong with some exercise.
As you walk along the trail youll traverse tje side of a mountain and see several pools below that look very invitng.
The trail ends at a steep drop so you will have to utalise ropes tied to trees and rocks to lower yourself, but trek was worth it, you can now bade in tje very deep, blue and cool waters of the pool.
A climb to the top reveals another pools and a foray up the stream reveals several other pools and awesome spots to relax.
The only way down is via an exciting jump of the top of the falls.
The pool is extremely deep so lifejackets are recommended and proper footwear. people have reportedly gotten lost on the trail so you should go with a guide or hiking group.
