Brazilians are very nice in the water, surfed there for 3 years (south to north) only the typical spots like Arpoador, etc.. are localist style.

I'm Brazilian and I aways felt out place, specially being a surfer. If you wanna get respected, you better learn to put a smile on your face, it doesn't matter if it's a fake smile or not. That said, I also learned to love my culture specially after meeting foreign people; it didn't take long for me to realize that for every defect other cultures don't share with us, they have another defect that we don't have. If you think brazlilians want people to understand they way they are but don't try understand other cultures, you are correct; if you think others cultures aren't like this as well, oh you are so wrong.

I get it, Brazilians are feisty and don’t sit around, wait and be courteous. Problem I find with Brazilians though is this. Not everyone or every culture is the same as you. You expect everyone to accept how you are but don’t respect everyone else’s culture and personalities, thus the reason for angst and retaliation by other cultures towards you. Seems to be just about you, always. Brazil looks amazing, would love to visit. We get a lot of Brazilians in my country and they are forever getting into arguments with locals. Understand different cultures other than Brazilian is all I’m saying.
@betofranca5 жыл бұрын
I think the issue with your comment here is your generalisation, not all brazilians are like this, same as not all americans support trump and eat cheeseburgers, and not all australians are arrogant... so my tip to you is give a brazilian, and an american, and an australian, the benefit of the doubt... and see them for who they really are.
@tomasribeiro22985 жыл бұрын
Brazilians respect other cultures. More than many countrys out there, including USA (kind of obvious). Now, that doesn't mean we'll change the way we are or the way we achieve things.

As a Brazilian native I can say this, Brazilians don’t even respect traffic laws how they could respect surfing rules 🙄, is hard to grow up there for sure even hard to make money but in the end of the day is a cultural thing, Brazilians accepted corrupt politicians, and because they feel damaged but the politicians they elects, they bring things paying forward mentality to their daily , daily bases, what we call “jeitinho brasileiro “, which could be translated to “Brazilian way to do things “= meaning that is always away to cheat the system, instead fighting what is wrong and claim for a real fix, Brazilians acceptance makes a much bigger social problem that is very noticeable by the first second u arrive their, poor social distribution, but all our own fault
@nias26315 жыл бұрын
Probably not the best choice of frames to point out the women. When I was in Rio I definitely saw a ton of hot chicks. As for understanding where they come from... I do! so if I am surfing at my home break and everyone is taking turns and trading waves but a Brazilian paddles out and starts competing for waves I take every chance to drop in on them or back paddle them. I don't need to play by the same set of rules if they won't.
