2:30 I was gonna say because of the grid style it looks like Chang An during the Tang dynasty period, mostly since I'm more familiar with Chinese history. To my knowledge though, Edo period of Japan probably took a lot of influence from Tang China, especially from Chang An since it was a very cosmopolitan city and got a lot of envoys from Japan. Also, apparently Karasuki is 唐鋤, the first character of which is 唐 which in Chinese is Tang, and is the same Tang used in Tang dynasty (唐朝)

I would like to point out there are a ton of mirror situations where similar events happened in the western styled region and here. -Rio saves the ruler's daughter in the other side he was locked up and beat near to death but here he is thanked. -A person with authority does something illegal on the other side they use their political power to cover it up and blame Rio the commoner but here they face punishment for their wrongs. -Rio fights and wins against royal guard on the other side and act like sore losers but on this side he faught an equivalent status and when he won the opponent congratulated Rio on his win. Im sure there are more but I think you get my point. At this point other then finding the bastard we are looking for there is no reason not to stay here and maybe convince some of the beastman tribes to trade with this nation.

He is still alive, and you don't need to read the light novel. You can just rewatch the ending of epiosde 5. Reiss was with an adventurer on the way to a wyvern nest and in a flashback of before they departed, you see Reiss talking with the adventurer with Lucius in the room.
