I know he's supposed to be played as support and as such not supposed to have a lot of cs, but I feel like a nice buff would be to reduce the wind up on his auto attacks. You gotta like predict 3 seconds into the future to be able to land steady cs if you're not willing to constantly spam his Q and W.

He should have absolutely went lich bane. It is a great item on ap Alistar specifically because after you combo you have nothing. When AP Alistar was a thing many years ago, lich bane was a staple.

I remember building a liche bane every single time I played ap alistar W Q combo into E with electrocute proc into sticking to the enemy while waiting for the chain proc then huge auto attack. Almost feels like you are playing a rythm game and would 100 to 0 any carry.

so old alistar had a total of 1.6 ap scaling now if the buff stay live they are a 2.3 so he got about ~50% more scaling form this might want to build him going support with Dark harvest and gathering storm and build him burst items then can combo you to death might be a good counter to other tanks as he can now out burst them if they engage on him or your adc like vs a leona or nautilus wouldn't pick him into a poke comp how ever as he'll just get poked down before he can go in. with his ult and passive and the passive Mr/Ar gains for being a tank he might be able to build full burst while still being super tanky (god he going to get abused used and nerf back down) now that his heal also a %hp heal he might be good to go with as a heal tank with a CC heavy team so he can get his passive off more in each team fight just building HP and AP might even be good to take him top with a heartsteel and gasp he only needs 5k hp to heal his team for more then his old passive.

Ahri charm could stop your combo, but a snare won't do a lot. It pays to remember that malphites ult is unstoppable, ali is not a good replacement in some match ups. You could really struggle vs an ahri or a xerath if they were quick with their cc, or just someone tanky.

you should try nunu sup he is actually a very good off meta pick cuz he has 2 cc W and E. W also makes you able to roam so easy, ult has slow, damage, sheild and his Q is pretty much just a extra smite for the team, and also works as a heal in lane. I always start W and use it on a invade as it a very good engage for an invade.
