im not sure so feel free to correct me if im wrong, but old kata put mark or something like that after hitting her q on the enemies that does extra damage after she hit those marked enemies with W right? maybe that's the thing they need to revert, like reducing the damage of q to the champ but if they are marked then get daggered then it will do the damage or something

That was really old yea, kinda like lb Q or old akali Q R but that doesn't sound like a good change because then kat would just one tap anyone she hits with Q lol, daggers (passive)are counterable by knowing how they work so most of her dmg should be from her passive imo it has the most counterplay since it takes the longest to hit (1-1.5) seconds or something but aside from on hit I don't really mind kat in general tbh so idk😅

I think best Kat scenario is to undo de rework they did in season seven, and have Kat playstyle like in seasons 4-6. Q bouncing 5 enemies I think it was that way, W was what her passive is now (obviously tuning it a bit down), and E making it like it was to jump to wards (now that the daggers mechanic would be gone) and for the sake of god remove the on hit from R and adjust the scaling. That would be what riot wants if they think cleverly, no need to worry about Kat building eveything but AP in the game and still kill everyone.

Nah, q nerf is worse, its easier to dodge p daggers, all the otp were wrong about the changes being a buff, they are probably wrong about this too. Not looking to insult, changeing and balanceing anything is very complicated. And like you said, kat feels a bit clunky and is a feast or famine champ that needs to be played at an insane high level. Prob needs a scope overhaul soon

nerf q is the fair thing to do. its wrong to make the unskilled part of a champion's kit overbuffed and the skilled part weaker. Not only katevolved but also the majority of the OTPs will always seek for make the champion stronger at higher levels and weak in the lower levels

If enemy team has 2 or more champs with hard cc, equal skill level, you will never get a good kat ult in like 90% of all games. So now you have a champ that just doeant have an ult? Why can her long cdr q poke just be undodgeable to give her something to be useful? And pray the enemy misplays and then you can make a kill reset montage play
