In one of riot's behind the scenes bits they did they discussed the music behind arcane. I believe it was the lead produced that said their goal was to make every one of these scenes feel like a small music video and I couldn't agree more. The choreography is great but nothing seems forced during the fight, everything is very natural and pleasing to watch and hear. Massive props to the riot production team.

If that's the case, the fact that they STILL managed to pull off the whiplash of "oh yeah, this is a real world where violence has severe consequences" as a moment of narrative resonance with the characters being brought back to reality like a cold shower by their actions' consequences hitting them in their face is amazing. The fact that no needless violence against an inferior opponent is portrayed as something cool in a show starring VI of all people is amazing to me.

The song choices in this series are actually so well done… Like this song so perfectly captures this badass, vigilante awesomeness going on, the hectic empowerment of the violence going on and it keeps building and building and is abrubtly cut off when Jayce accidentally kills a child. This song wasn’t just there to be awesome, it was there specifically to come to that abrupt halt and put the brakes on this fantasy power trip, diving right back down to the real world and showing what we were told 6 episodes prior: ”Nobody wins in war.”

Everything is phenomenal except their new champion design team, and of course THEIR BALANCE TEAM lmfao
@SiMeGamer3 жыл бұрын
@@CS-Student what do you know about balance? These comments are so annoying because nobody actually looks at data and statistics and sees that the balance team is doing a masterful job considering the complexity of the game and how many human elements (factors outside of pure numbers) force certain changes. Imagine doing a good job and people hating you because they don't understand anything regarding your craft. It's pretty disgusting. Compare last season to all seasons and statistically, season 11 was the most balanced season despite having an overhaul of the entire item system. Easy to talk sht when all you do is play and don't take accountability for your mistakes in game. Really wish this bs misguided hatred of the balance team would stop.
@motyovszkimiklos75383 жыл бұрын
@@SiMeGamer statistics are not everything m8. If people have a dogshit time playing the game, there is no mathematical argument that can prove their expeprience wrong.
@SiMeGamer3 жыл бұрын
@@motyovszkimiklos7538 there is literally no other way to balance the game. If people hate Yasuo, you don't go and just nerf him to 45% winrate because that is literally unbalanced even of it's a little more fun for everyone who is not Yasuo. This is competitive game. You balance based on winrates. Winrates of items, winrates of skill orders, winrates of runes, winrates based on ranks. There is nothing else to measure balance on. And of you hate something, that's a design matter, not a balance matter. Balance takes whatever design exists and tries to make it as equal to everything else as possible. Not to mention that they also started doing a little bit of balancing in regards to pickrates. Despite certain things being factually balanced, people didn't pick them because they didn't understand them and that skews the statistics. So what you do is buff something, make people take it more so you get better relative numbers and then nerf it back because now it's in the meta consciousness. That's what they did with the health rune for example and that's what they did with Akshan on release with the hotfix to his stats so that more players play him, figure him out faster, and then they nerfed him back because his release numbers were actually solid but weren't reflected in the stats. Balance is an extraordinarily complex thing to do for a game like League of Legends. If people have dogsht time playing, it's often due to the player not understanding something, not the game being unbalanced. If I give you a goal to hold 40kg weights on each hand and you fall down, it's not because of imbalance. It's because you lack the strength (knowledge and/or skill) to be able to lift those weights. You need more training. You don't need to go far to see that playing out. Look at any easy champs to play vs hard champs to play. Ones are better in lower MMRs and ones are better in higher MMRs. An easy champion cannot be as strong as a complex champion because if their power level at their ceiling is equal, then there is never a reason to play the more complex one. And yet they still manage to do a pretty good job and slowly bring less complex champs (e.g. Amumu) back to a fighting chance with small design tweaks that allow for a lesser MMR winrate skew. You cannot balance a game based on player personal feelings unless it is overwhelming (when it is, they make changes, like many champions mechanics on release get changed or removed for lack of counterplay that you cannot test anywhere but the live servers). Designers push the boundaries. Balance team does its best. Statistics and feedback are gathered and it goes back full circle to the designers to figure what to do based on all the data. You want a game that caters to emotions? Go play Kirby's Epic Yarn. You'll destroy that game and maybe feel good. League of Legends is a hard game. Very hard game. If you are in Gold, you should be proud of that accomplishment alone. You are already on the top 3rd of players. But the way to the top of Challenger and genuinely being amazing at the game takes years of dedicated practice and study. Studying your own games, games by people better or other than you and doing a lot of reading and testing. There is no easy way. And you can't balance the game for competitive players and casual players because there is no way to introduce a transition if one goes form one to another so the only way to balance it is according to statistical analysis. If you are frustrated that someone is OP, then ask why not everybody is playing them and why their winrate is not above 60%. People like to meme the nerf they did to Aurelion Sol. Because his pickrates is one of the lowest in the game. But they forget that those people who put in hundreds of hours into mastering him, are scrubbing the floor with their opponent's bodies. You cannot ignore that. You cannot give certain players 70% winrates just because it's a niche pick. How is that balanced in any way? League of Legends is a competitive game. There are casual modes but at its core it's a hardcore sport. I love playing ranked alone and play casually with friends. It's not like it's impossible to have fun. But that's because my mindset towards every particular match is always adhering to the context that League is a hard and complex game. And if I go to test Ahri in a normal match with friends, I should expect a one-tricks Yone to woop my ass. Not because Yone is broken, he is not (I think his winrate is below 50%; it was a couple patches ago). It's because he has more mastery of his champion and I don't. It's because he maybe knows how to manage waves better than I do. Maybe he is really fking good at tracking my team's movements and doesn't overstep. Maybe is cognisant of how I play and goes way more aggressive because he feels I don't know how to counterplay it. Upon analysis you can still find flaws and there are still champion matchups that favor one over another. You cannot make it perfectly balanced. Only as much as possible with your current data. Problems players of ten find with the game that relate to Riots shortcomings is more often than not related to design, not balance. Stop flaming the wrong team, or perhaps stop flaming at all and start looking at the game through a proper scientific analytical lens. Perhaps you'll find that the game actually makes a lot of sense and finding a scapegoat in balance is just compium. I'm not always fond of certain balance changes. Their team isn't perfect (who's is?). But God damn it if overall they do an amazing fking job despite being so hated by the community they do this all for. What a sad fking reality. Go learn how to balance. Maybe you'll gain some appreciation for what is actually going on behind the scenes.

Ahh, can't you see my rage? You're a snake, you're a snake, just like a spitting image Fate, how's it taste? It's your own medicine Make no mistakes, got 20/20 vision If I see your face, don't think I'm forgiving It's time we had a discussion 'Bout your sorry production Mask your shade and corruption Grinning teeth lack seduction Know the crime you committеd I forget not forgive it Don't you dare gеt it twisted I'm nice but I can get wicked Now we're enemies Ahh, do you feel no shame? Matches are shorter, we use pings and pre made messages only instead of typing and the events are a lot more interesting than they used to be when I played lol.
