I never thought I'd get to see another huge sponsored edit from Curren ever again. I was appreciative of just some small edits and clips of him at home in Rincon or in Mexico here and there on Instagram or just former professional filmers catching him in the wild. But I always thought Rip Curl just never wanted to drop him since he helped bring the company back to being profitable and he's just an icon/legend and they just focus on Mason Ho or Mick. So this is fucking out-of-this-world sick/amazing for me.

Tom Curren Seems to be a wonderful guy. He was in his heyday in the early 90s when I was living in Santa Barbara, and I was long boarding, once in a while Tom would be out there at our local spots in Carpinteria.

Man, I was waiting for the next bit with Tom just goofing off. Guy's hilarious. Once in a lifetime style, too. And still ripping. Michael Ho, Peter Mel, Occy, not many still really rip. To see Tom surf is to see the artform in all it's glory. His ability to read a wave and transfer all his energy with so much grace in an effortless and meaningful style has never stopped inspiring me. Kelly followed in his footsteps but was never his better. Curren has never lost it. Always a joy when you sit in admiration of his ability. Thanks Rip Curl for keeping the dream alive. It's great to see Tommy still has has it surfing wise, he's probably the best surfer to come out of California we were also proud of them in the '80s my friends uncle owned Op and his cousin Jamie was a good friend of mine in high school Tommy Taylor Knox and I have our names spray painted on the floor underneath the carpet at South Coast in Pacific Beach, we got tacos at Taco surf afterwards he's a living legend in California. Keep surfing tommy!

I mean, having retired to go ‘free surfing’ and with no qualification points or wildcards so having to surf the trials in every competition, wins the tour.
