Yuri, thanks for the shout out! Literally saw the car in la, came back to Canada. Saw your review of the original and went got the GC variant. That b58 engine w a stage 1tune by my boy at protuningfreaks with the m performance exhaust had that car nearly perfect in daily capability, weekend outings, near suv big box shopping hauling and then pure driving hooligansism. Also love you guys and happy to have been watching from those days. Still go back every so often and review that video and before i have that car back we took it on one last rip thru cliché as an ode to yall.

As someone who has owned an M440i Gran Coupe xDrive for a couple of years now... with the exact spec they mentioned (Brooklyn Grey, Tacora Red Leather, Black Matte Wood trim), I can safely say that this is THE BEST car I've ever owned. It handles well, is super comfortable, tech works fantastically, etc. I love the way it looks, but obviously I'm biased. It's an amazing car.

I have a 2019 F32 440i in estoril blue and with MPPSK. It looks great and sounds glorious. I wanted one in snapper rocks blue but was difficult finding a well optioned car so opted for regular blue.

The modern BMW’s have drastically improved in reliability. The company have taken strides to improve issues that occurred in previous model. I believe modern BMW is around number 3 overall on reliablity now which is quite a statement for a German Car in this era. The engine and transmission on this generation are really robust and reliable.

But still has a VERY decent sound, the cold start is crazy!

The lift gate is adjustable on the infotainment. The reason they probably set it low is that on the highest setting, it hits many garage roofs.

Weird, I have driven this in front of a g21 3series 340i which I owned, I found the 440i to have worse steering feel and worse behavior. Plus the g21 (which is a wagon) was more practical and best in rear seat space. The only missing part was the elbow rest and door top was full plastic despite full leather package on 3 series.

Picked up my new M440i Gran Coupé two weeks ago, very happy with it, but need adapting after a G31 that I got so symbiotic to. The best colour for this one is 'arctic race blue' , but I couldn't justify the extra for that, so I got Dravit Grey. I have the standard 18" M-aerodynamic 858 M Bicolour wheels, but will use them as winter rims. You definitely want 19 inch or perhaps 20 for summer handling. The 18 inches are too much rubber, too floppy, even with inflation 25% above recommended pressure. The 'laser' rear lights are standard on the new M4, and optional on other models - as I understood The opening height of the hatch is set in the iDrive settings, which is to prevent the hatch from opening too high in your garage with e.g. an opened rolling door or whatever that's called.

I like the look of these tbh. The thing that puts me off most is that it basically is an i4 which is like.. the default company car for senior profiles here nowadays. The 2-door version, especially 2024 model with all options is insane though, but 2 doors is just not very practical imo. 3 series it is then. Will miss my 440 when it’s time comes

I have an M340i as a daily car. It is now at the BMW dealer for some maintenance and adjustments and I received the M440i Gran Coupe as a loaner car. The 4 is faster, newer and more luxurious, but the experience in a 3 is much better. mine doesn't have an opf filter so those roars come from deeper and more beautiful. all in all nice car.

@@Bird9699 Good luck! Wallet misses the M340… my right foot says other wise. Word of advice, think wisely, M3 better? Yea… but 50% more better no. MPG on my M340 was getting average around 25. M3 I’m in the 17. I picked up the M3 and told the sales guy, hey you don’t give customers full tank of gas? His like it’s full… and I’m like it shows 240 miles till empty…

@@deadlydonague2402 touch screen doesn’t bother me at all. If you look very closely, only button your missing is the climate control. Still have physical buttons for volume and next track. Most controls done via steering wheel. I keep my climate control on auto, so I don’t even find myself touching that often. Only thing that really sucks is the heated seats(heated wheel still a button). Heated seats don’t actually turn on unless the temps are at certain temperature, even if you turned it on low. Basically even the heated seats is “auto”. Only way I got it to turn on was under “very high” setting. I’m in SoCal… so I don’t see any freezing temps. Few things reviewers don’t touch base on is the improved HUD. And ID8 does look much more fancy. The all app display is a bit daunting at first, but how often are we going into those settings? M1 and M2 takes care of the sports mode. I still have an X4 with ID7 and can flip back and forth, and can confidently say both are good. One thing, if you were the type to use the quick shortcut button 1-8 then it will have a little more learning curve. As now you have to swipe down on the touch screen to get to your fav buttons.

@@deadlydonague2402 ooo few more things, the defrost functions are all still buttons. One quirky thing! The auto stop/start on M3 remembers last setting! M340 you would have to turn off each start. Also I hate the lane centering, M340 is on by default, M3 is disabled by default!

One of the best all rounders and personally the best in the segment. Really Sporty in sports mode, B58 FTW, Smooth and luxurious in comfort mode, Love the iD8 curved screen and gauges, adaptive cruise with Lane centering is pretty darn good. I urge all manufacturers to give lift back in all coupes and sedans to make it more practical and stop this segment from dying. IMHO, it looks way better with the laser lights and better wheels that BMW offers.

I have a 330e and it does irritate me that most BMW’s don’t come with adaptive cruise and advanced driver assistance tech. It requires expensive packages, meanwhile most mainstream brands have it sometimes standard 🙃

@@rohitkalra90 they get stuck due to ice. Sometimes don't roll down when you try to open a door, sometimes they manage to roll down a bit and get stuck and can't come back up. You end up having a few drives with a door/window that isn't properly closed/sealed until the ice melts and you can operate it normally again. Annoying.

The drive lights are much cooler with the 'Laserlight' that I have on my i4. I'd rather have the 440i, but in a country with EV-rebate and insane car purchase tax (150% above a certain price!!!), the 440i is almost 80% more expensive than an i4 eDrive (which is the best one). The 4-series has less space in the back than the (previous) 3 series. Adaptive cruise can be really annoying, because it is overly cautious.

I think it’s interesting that the 4 series outsells the 3 series but the m340i seems to be WAY more popular than the m440i on YT . I’ll probably be buying one of them in early summer and I went from leaning towards the coupe to now looking at m340i almost exclusively due to all the content influencing me 😂

My M440i GC has the Driver Assistance Pro pkg (partial autonomy) and I had to order it that way. Supposedly only about 5-10% of 3/4 series has it. It is exceedingly rare.

@@madpistol yes can order them, but the GC was no longer available to order as of 2022. Disappointing that the new legacy editions don’t have it either. It’s crazy to me that it’s not on more 3/4 series. It should be standard once you’re at 60k CAD. I made this point to a BMW sales manager and he said “BMW drivers actually like driving so maybe it’s not the car for you .” Chill bro I drive an Giulia QV. It has adaptive cruise and I love driving.

I bought a 1985 BMW 325e in 1988 after graduating college. I loved that car. Two door, black leather seats, sunroof in Diamond Schwartz. My, have BMWs gotten bloated and insulated. There is really nothing with this car that equals what BMW did with the e30 platform. That being said, I would buy a new M2. At least it’s a small sporty coupe with a manual.
