I'm sure the main reason they were branding themselves as a 'metaverse' was because, for a time, it was the 'hip new thing' in the tech world and they wanted to look appealing for investors to fill their pockets. Now that the craze has long since subsided and Metaverses aren't interesting anymore, they're ditching the label. There probably won't be too much changing in what their actual plans are, they're just scrapping the name because it doesn't make people's heads turn like it used to (it was probably starting to hurt more than it helped anyways).

If anything it was only catching people's attention because of how strange and unnecessary it was. At least they made money from it that (hopefully) will go towards improving the site in the future. I think ROBLOX becoming so corporate is one of the main reasons why they've become more incompetent in terms of moderation, their overall decisions for the site, etc. And the "metaverse" stuff definitely didn't help their case since, like you said, it was literally a stupid corporate trend.

I joined somewhere in 2015-16 and I can say what attracted me to roblox was this charm that's kinda hard to put to paper. Roblox almost felt like a relic from a long gone era, yet that feel is why it was so charming. Avatars are rather simple but so very customizable. That charm seems to have faded If that makes any sense, but the removal of the meta verse is a step in the eight direction. Though I doubt that charm will be regained forever more.

The only thing I will remember the metaverse era of Roblox for is when they did the metaverse champions event. They had a pretty decent idea for how it could work at first, but what the result that came out of the event was pretty disappointing (pushing work onto random developers that seemed "trustworthy" enough to add a badge for a certain "Champion", and adding something to act like a challenge in the theme of the metaverse event was basically optional). Anyways back on topic, I will only remember that event specifically because I was a stupid idiot that decided to get EVERY SINGLE Metaverse badge/crate for each Champion (probably either to flex on other people that I did everything, or maybe because I was craving something new from Roblox events since it was around the time that Roblox basically gave up on making good events for the users of the platform). But yeah, after collecting every single badge/"metaverse crate", I got literally nothing for it (I know they said there was no extra reward for getting every crate, but I thought that maybe they were hiding something from the general player base and would give something to people like me who were stupid but dedicated enough to collect everything there was to offer like in previous official events). TL;DR = I will only remember the metaverse champions event from Roblox's "metaverse" era because I collected every badge/crate there was to offer in the event (even though some of the challenges were absolutely ridiculous to try and complete and ultimately took several weeks off of my life). There was no reward for getting EVERYTHING and it made me sad :( Everything else in Roblox's "metaverse" era I've simply forgotten or is just completely irrelevant for obvious reasons.

It’s been a month since the end of the meta-verse although Roblox made 2 bad decisions it’s seeming like it’s trying to restore itself And that happened before that happened remember, when they try to add the genres back yet, it still auto searches for you that’s Roblox, attempting to restore itself more recently, the Roblox career center released and it even mentions the R 16 or 15 avatars. Though for some reason, Roblox filled the trailer with too much rthro they are hopefully fixing Roblox I know that they won’t reverse the name of experiences and we probably won’t get our egg hunts back It will at least be a resurgence
