This song was written by Tom already knowing that he was going to die and he is actually in this video. No one outside the band knew what was going on with Tom and it was only after his passing that many of his lyrics started to make more and more sense. RIP Tom Searle
@juanacevedo14314 жыл бұрын
This quote is one of the comments in this song, just encapsulates how deep and meaningful the lyrics were and no one knew anything about it except Tom and the rest of the band. "Stage 4 melanoma (a sickness with no remedy), your white blood cells are the final line of defense to defeat the cancer (except the ones inside of me). He went into this album knowing this was going to be his last." Original quote by Cameron Little.

While yes Tom wrote this and he is in the video the rest of your comment is dead wrong... All of Lost Forever//Lost Together is about him coping with his cancer diagnosis. There is literally a song called C.A.N.C.E.R... They definitely all knew what was going on and were obviously friends for him through his treatment and death...

tom wasent dead when this song came out , he was fighting his cancer , and he and dan wrote this song , you really should check a match made in heaven and doomsday ( doomsday is the last song tom put is word on but didnt have the time to finish it ) , so his brother dan finished the lyrics and they released it as a farewell , on how they all feel facing his death , but they also said that doesnt mean we are comming back , but the fan where so into doomsday that they announced holy hell a few weeks after
@georgemayatt8964 жыл бұрын
"A sickness with out remedy" he's on about cancer. "Except the ones inside of me" I think referring to the antibody's in his body fighting the cancer. That last chorus all ways gets to me "If I could silence all the doubt in me and accept what is meant to be" Accepting that you might actually might not make it, gets me right in the feels each time.
@dahliafenr4 жыл бұрын
The "except the ones inside of me" is more about his mentality. "Hope is a prison" is basically an absurdist statement, and it gets pretty obvious with the Alan Watts quotes in Memento Mori. That sickness that can be cured is referring to his acceptance of death.
@SkullThuggery4 жыл бұрын
@@dahliafenr Not actually true. Tom had stage 4 melanoma (a sickness with no remedy) in which the only hope of survival is for the body’s own antibodies - hence “ones” and not “one” in the lyrics - to fight off the cancer, in effect being the ‘only remedy’ (except the ones inside of me)
@Joeydxn974 жыл бұрын
I remember when this album came out I was just in awe of how amazing the songs were, just on the surface, then after Tom’s death the true meaning of each song was clear and if you listen to each song, every one of them could bring you to tears. The emotion, strength and genuine genius put into writing these songs is so powerful, what a legacy he left behind.

Chills every time I hear this. The live version where Sam does a speech and tears up towards the end is pretty full on. End of their mini doco. It's funny how they mention god, bit like parkway. As pretty sure they don't believe in god, they just use it as in something there to blame , so use god as it.

Might be the best song of the last 10 years. So pessimistic but somehow optimistic. Watched it live and the pit during the breakdown part was so surreal we all were singing quietly to each other shaking hands and then just went haywire. There’s a metaphor for humanity there somewhere lol. It was insanely beautiful beyond words.
