IPv6: Why Is the Transition Taking So Long?

I felt shamed by this talk so I went and updated a few of my servers/to run ipv6 while listening to this excellent lecture.

Do you know what happened to that kid who wanted to host a Minecraft server from home? His hopes and dreams were shattered by the beast we call CG-NAT... "The network layer no longer matters" is a lie, the price we payed was functionality and connectivity. I blame IANA and the RIR's. You should have anticipated this and prevented this exact scenario we are currently in! 😡
