Those plants look exactly the same. The proof of any difference is in the yield assuming the soil profiles are the same. Many times in the same field the yield could be off by 20 bushels an acre. Also, the 30-35 degree angle is nonsense. In all plants, roots will have different angles as they search for water and nutrients.

One of the problems with rippers is soil moisture and soil makeup texture, the moisture should fracture the soil. It may the shanks may fracture to a depth of 4 to 8 inches but at past those depths the shank may be smearing and compacting the soil Horizontaly
