A terrific quick tactical rappelling demo and French prusik setup. Thank you for sharing.

That's a great technique. Simple and you emphasized the use of the extension for equipment manipulation. Only criticism I have is your choice of gloves lends itself to injury when such injury would be critical. Try Petzl gloves and you will use them all the time. Sew a piece of Velcro to the back of the index fingers and make a slit at the middle knuckle, palm side. You can remove the tip of the finger and stick it to the back of the knuckle for better trigger dexterity.

Goreat video. I put a figure 8 knot in the end of my rope. That way in case you get to the end of the rope you have a loop you'd be able to step into.

Can you please name the harness you are using? I know you said "octorigs" or something but I cant find it.. much appreciated 🙏🏽
@swaspc76183 жыл бұрын
You can use a UIAA Tubular Webbing and a good knot. You can go minimalist like him or make a "full harness" with 3-5 meters. Close to one end make two loops, with a knot, for each leg. Keep one o two meters for attachment. Wrap around your waist the rest of the webbing and make a good knot with the other end. Add a carabiner to the waist and to the webbing in between your legs.

I am very surprised you don't use a figure 8 coil system, it's much much more reliable with less risk of tangling half way down after you throw it. But, nice video otherwise.
@ripperkon6 жыл бұрын
8th sinner thx. I would probably use it for longer ropes.
@8thsinner6 жыл бұрын
I suppose thats a good point, you don't need it as much in shorter abseils, especially for this paired technique.

New here. Isn't the purpose of videos like this to educate and teach. How can experienced people gain this skill if you're not willing to teach us how to work with a rope?.

Abseiling is English and German. In the Netherlands we are stupid and replace the -ing to -en ; Abseilen But there is no problem because we know the meaning.
@leontiefmodell6503 жыл бұрын
@@arnoldmeulenNot stupid at all. "Abseilen" is the German noun for rapelling - so, you're just simply using the correct German word for it :)

Most times it's safer to use one anchor point. the forces increase when there is an angle between the anchor points.
