I have four adopted children. I have brought them up for 15 years. I felt endless love from them till their teens' age. Now when they left me (they study at the college) they belong to the society. They became very cinical and cunning. They text to me only when they need money. The way the society brings them up frustrates me. Sounds like a Singapore film. Similar event happened to me when I was nine years old and lost my tuck shop money (10cents). A man saw my distress at Bras Basah Road and gave me 50cents (a lot of money then). I never forget. Now I tell people about Karma and help those in need. I still visit Singapore yearly and could now afford to stay at MBS. I would always look for opportunities to share and repay the kindness and I teach my grandchildren to do likewise.

A number of years ago, I was fueling my truck when an older man came up to me needing help. I gave him the money he needed. When he insisted that he should pay me back, I told him to help someone else when the opportunity presented itself. That man tried every trick to get my info but failed. He did not want to pay it forward for some reason but I left him no choice.
