What a wonderful house. I have been travelling to Vic for 22 years and have been asking my husband to take me there since we met but always something else during our short stay was more important. This year I put my foot down and said we are going, so glad I did it was the highlight of my stay.

Yeah I'm surprised it's not better known, really. It's not as widely advertised or promoted as Werribee mansion/park, which deserves the attention no doubt, but is a hidden gem. Even most Melburnians I've asked haven't been here. I'm from Perth, lived here 5 years, and had visited Melbs many times prior. Only heard of Rippon Lea by visiting the heritage centre I think it was in East Melbourne. But yeah, I'm glad you finally got to visit, it is a special place.
