At 70 and having normal skin with a couple of dry patches, I am loving the new Too Faced foundation. I use Tatcha Water Cream and Tatcha liquid Silk Canvas under it. Perfect fur me! Love the coverage, the light feel and the not overly matte appearance. Another huge plus is how great it looks after wearing a mask! I did have to mix the Ntl Beige (darker than most Lt to medium shades) and Lt Beige (too Lt for summer) to get my perfect shade. Great review!! So happy that both you and Stephanie seem to like the new Born This Way Matte. 💕

Think I’ll stick with Double Wear. I’ve been wearing it since it was new on the market, and I believe it was only $28! Oh my! But I do love it. It is the only foundation i‘ve ever used that does not oxidize and turn orange on my skin.

I’m 47 and I’ve been extremely oily all my life. Double wear controls my shine for one hour at most, after that my face is a disco ball. I’ve given up in finding a way to keep my face matte for at least two hours so what I’m more interested about a foundation is the finish because I usually need to blot each 45 minutes to an hour. I like the finish of the original born this way so I may try this new version just for that. Double wear ages me a lot and it breaks awfully on me. The original Born this way disappears more gracefully.

Thanks for this comparison. ELDW has been the best foundation for my super oily skin, but I still get very shiny at 2 hours, even with any combination of primers/setting products. I’ll keep hoping for a mattifying foundation for us exceptionally super oily ladies.

I think the only foundation that MAY drag me away from my DW is the new EL Hydra Rescue for this winter as I dry out from the indoor heat and cold air outside, but EL is MONTHS late for release in Canada. I keep contacting them and they keep moving the release date a month here or another few weeks there, since March. So who know sif the new Hydra rescue will ever come to Canada. has anyone heard anything?

Thanks for sharing your review and perspective! I bought Double Wear for the first time a last week, and I don't find it to be very matte for me--I also use tons of hydrating under my foundation. I was really intimidated by DW because of the full-coverage and matte claims, but I find it sheers down really beautifully and once it warms up to my skin it is really quite natural finish on me. It's always interesting how different people and their own techniques can change how products work.

I have two faced now and it is alright, I’m not over excited about it. The Double wear worked great when I worked corrections, it lasted quiet a while but it was almost like paint not a thick feeling but more matte feeling. I stopped wearing after leaving corrections. I know use drug store brands like L’Oréal Infallible and it actually does beautifully and last close to eight hours with the technique how to get flawless skin, that video helped so much for making my making last, dusting and the spraying my face then foundation, huge improvement 😊

This is so funny bc I’m a normal to dry skin lady and love a good glowy foundation for myself but when I’m watching this from my iPhone I thought the Double wear looked so good on you. More matte but beautiful and airbrushed. The too faced was nice but yeah I saw more shine on camera and not as airbrushed looking on camera but maybe in person it looks better! Nothing can compare with ELDW. I have a shade in it to start with (only 4 foundations have perfect matches for me). It is dry, but when it mixes with my skin I am not even sure I am usin fundation if not for my dark spots being covered. It is buildable on me. It doesn't enhance my pores or textures. It goes ok with the blushes I have. I've used it for 13 hours once over a mattifying sunscreen without blotting, although it was a little light by the end of the night. It doesn't transfer much. Yeah! It is perfection for my skin.

Risa I too have used the ELDW forever, however, now that I'm a lot older with normal-dry skin I don't like it so matte anymore but I have 2 backup bottles to get through. I tried adding EL illuminator to it and still didn't get a slightly dewy, healthy natural look. Thought about Tatcha Dewy mist spray to sides of the face instead or trying another liquid illuminator to add to it....what would you suggest and what brand/product otherwise it's such a waste that I can't afford to throw out. Love, Love, Love your hairstyle today and I've noticed quite a number of others have too and so could you do a video showing us how you styled it this way, please?? Hi Sue! The Hydra Rescue is great, but might be better choice for the winter time. If you’re looking for transfer resistance and extra long wear time, then I would choose the Too Faced Matte.
