I like the headphone jack but it has nothing to do with not being to afford wireless as mentioned here and much more to do with not having to charge something else. I bought the Bluetooth adopter six months ago, and I was right, the audio quality is not great like the headphone jack, but it's not bad either. Furthermore, the Bluetooth adopter is much more convenient, especially in the gym. Also, I think an increasing number of people are using wireless headphones or earbuds, probably because it's easier to use and getting cheaper. I guess from companies' perspective (like Apple's), they can lower the cost of incorporating a headphone jack and use the space for something else (or just try to make the phone thin).

I don't understand the arguments for ditching the headphone jack. If you are lisening to music no really good headphone exist without a jack. You can get pretty serious studio quality wired headphones for $200 or 300. You can get better quality than any ear bud for 50. The wireless offering lacks high quality options. On top of that latency on BT headsets is still way to big if you are making music with your portable device. Space saving is not an argument you can definitly fit the port. Waterproofing is not an argument, I got tons of ip68 devices with 3.5mm jack. The convinient of having no wires is definitly there. But you can have BT and a jack, like it still exists on tons of devices.

Question: Do people really want or need a screen that takes up the whole surface of one side of the phone? My whole family complains about how the three integral buttons to Samsung function are now part of the screen rather than discrete buttons on the bottom of the phone. Additionally, there's no border to the screen, no place to put your fingers or grip the phone. I get tired inadvertently pushing something or accidentally hanging up the call simply pulling the phone out of my pocket. 5 to 8 mm around the perimeter of the phone would be SO nice! They could build a bumper in that space to protect the phone 📱! It's kind of silly to build the slimmest, sleekest phone if I then have to buy a bulky shock absorbing case to put it in!

Great news! I look forward to the follow-up. I'm a Japanese essayist. It's called Mikan Oshidari(忍足みかん🍊♥). I have published a book called [I want to stop being a slave to my smartphone]. As the title says, I switched to a flip phone because of my smartphone addiction. It's all about mental health. Flip phones are comfortable. But now, smartphone addiction is commonplace in the world. As a woman in my 20s who likes flip phones, I'm often told that I'm strange or weird. sad. despair. Many people are addicted to smartphones without even realizing it. I would like to see it as more of an issue. I also hope that the merits of flip phones will be reevaluated. I hope so, so I'm happy to hear this news. Please feature this theme again

As an electronics engineer I laughed at apple for launching wireless earbuds at 160$ as these are disposable accessories batteries will die in 2 years so a recurring purchase with the phone. Also for this price one can buy a reasonable android phone somewhere in Asia.....moreover the amount of material that goes in making the earbuds is less than 10$ so these earbuds are 150$ of pure profit to apple, likewise wise leaving out charger from the phone box is not for green planet (fyi wireless charging is energy inefficient and leads to 100% more co2 emission) but to make consumer buy wireless charger than use wired charger. Overall cost of an Apple phone+ earbuds+charger amounts to 1300$ with 1000$ of pure profit to the company........how can the world be so blind to capitalism to such extremes.......if apple was pro-customer or pro environment they would not have phone or earbuds where battery cant be changed or glued in phone. Also removing charger for the box company should have offered voucher to consumers for the value of charger so as to let the customer choose to buy charger with the voucher or use it to buy other accessories/services. Removing the chargers sounds like selling a new car without tyres expecting consumers to use tryes from old car.........

My new i phone 13 cam with no charger or power cord. Old ones had lower power with took a long time to charge. Also the 13 had a c port with required a new cable. SO, charger and 2 meter cable cost $50.00.

Why they keep removing ports from devices? They want to remove power from the users and lack them in to whatever they want to offer. Ports gives users flexibility and power of choice.

I was born in the 60's and let me tell you this. Today nobody is any better off than I was. These devices have done little for society if we were to balance out all the harm they have done. The world would be better without all these devices that seem to rule people's lives. I can barely stand talking to your average young adult anymore. They simply don't know how to converse without some devise distracting them.

What happened to CNBC ran out of content? Why merging old documents together and re uploading it?
Mobil phones were once convenient and cheap. in my lifetime you could buy your own home for around five hundred pounds. now they striving towards everyone paying a least 100 pounds per month per MOB. and it won't be long before this will happen. such a greedy world we live in.

$10/20 earbuds sound good and is good enough. I would say close enough to the airpods or wired earpods and the earpods sound just like airpods. Also dont forget you shorten battety on earbuds faster because of the constant use and leaving it at 100%.
