the Bristol usually carried guns in both turret and behind the engine. this varied from 2 in the turret and 1 for the pilot, to 1 in the turret and 2 for the pilot behind the engine. they were given a lot of leeway however, many pilots stuck as many guns as they could onto the turret

You're flying the Bristol Fighter? Nice!!! it's one of our iconic First World War planes along with the SE-5A and the Sopwith Camel. There's one of these "Brisfits" flown by the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden in Bedfordshire.

So happy to see more Rise of Flight! I have a suggestion for a plane I would love to see you make a video on... the Handley-Page 0/400. Not only does it look weird and wonderful, it's also pleasant to fly, and provides a kind of a Great War-version of the "B-17 The Mighty 8th". Long flights means it might not be the best option for a full career, but I'd heartily recommend you give it a go. Also, the long-awaited Battle of Kuban is now released for Il-2 Sturmovik, and that means the new career mode has finally been added in, vastly improving the game's singleplayer. It is very similar to Rise of Flight's career mode, only with many improvements (and more to come, including many more mission types). Personal experiences so far are very positive! I remember you being interested in trying a career in Il-2, so thought to give you a heads up.

Did you notice that during the First World War? There was no such a thing as Marvel and DC Comic book heroes? Even though Zorro and the Lone Ranger still existed during this era.

Flying straight and level over flak(?!). The game does pick on you for that. Dihedral in the wings - may be the first time we've seen that in a combat aircraft. Absent such luxuries as trim, it would make sense that you would gain some stability at the expense of maneuverability.

The first flying fortress is the russian bomber nicknamed the Ilya Muromets. :D 4 engines, eventually 9 MGs, including the extreme tail.

Hello Taff! You took Sebastian up as your gunner?!!! You let him have machine guns?!!! When I heard that I knew it would end badly. The beginning said that the Bristol's front guns could be elevated. Do you have controls to elevate them and then aim above the wing as you don't have great visibility between the wing and the gun sight? Just a thought.

At what point in the air war did they have parachutes?

They had parachutes from the beginning but both sides Command wouldn't allow the pilots to use them...believed the pilots would just bale rather than fight. Near the end of the war the Germans relented and, famously, Ernst Udet jumped from his Fokker DVII saving his life.

Why do I listen and watch these First World War CGI simulation videos? Here's what it's to me. Are you in control of a hobby store in Anchorage Alaska especially? You definitely have to sell 1/24th plastic and die-cast metal scale model First World War biplanes and triplanes. This includes the French and British Supermarine quadruplane. The First World War observation balloons, airships, battleships, aircraft carriers, escort vessels, PT boats, submarines, staff cars, combat tanks, and troop transport trucks are included as well.
