Also, not every weapons were shown so far (which one of them was fist and probably staff from preorder bonus so stay tune for that). Overall, the combat seems promising enough to recognize a Team Ninja game: a good action gameplay!
Combat Style system
The combination of weapon types and styles changes the compatibility with the enemy.
Various Japanese and Western melee weapons, such as swords, spears, double blades, and even bayonets and sabers, are available, with different characteristics and attack actions. In addition, the main character learns new "styles" by deepening his relationships with the characters he meets. Even with the same weapon type, the attacks change depending on the school, allowing players to enjoy a rich variety of sword-fighting action.
Schools are classified into three types: "Heaven," "Earth," and "Man," and the affinity between them occurs depending on the weapon used by the enemy. For example, the "Mumyo-ryu" school, classified as "Hito", is at a disadvantage against the enemy's big sword, while the "Hokushin Itto-ryu" school, classified as "Ji", has an affinity advantage. As you battle your foes, knowing which one of the three combat styles, Ten (Sky), Chi (Earth), and Jin (Human), is advantageous against their weapons and can help you gain the upper hand in battle-and parrying them with the proper combat style will knock them back significantly.
