It's not realistic to expect to always be thriving. Life can be messy and we can’t separate the highs and lows or have one without the other. But we can learn to accept the process, to understand that it's part of the journey, and to build our own inner resilience. It’s about bouncing forward and using adversity as a catalyst to get better and become stronger.
And we also need to remember that we are part of a community - that when we are vulnerable, we can lean on each other and lift each other up. And together, we are so much more resilient than we know.

“If you can rise, take somebody with you.” Perfect inspiration for today. My husband is dying, and today, I am “investing” all his machines and tools in a person 20 years younger who had to leave all his tools and machines behind in New Zealand because the government would not renew his family’s visas. Now they have come to Portugal to start again. I will support their skills, their courage every way I can. And it would please my husband to know that the things he used to build a business and contacts and friends when we were new immigrants is now going to give another family a grasp on the ladder, and hope. Love has to be given away. Faith in one another has to flow, one to another. And the result? I don’t know whether this family will prosper or not, but I hope so. For myself, I feel richer because I have a connection with them, and they are good people who deserve another chance. When my husband is gone, I will rise up again, alone, but not really alone. And I intend to take others with me.

I think that it is important to have balance in anything that you do in this life. Too much of something is dangerous, and too little of something isn't enough. And that applies to everything in life. I personally enjoy my quiet time being alone but I also realize that my success (in any aspect of my life) will not only come from my indipendence, but also my dependence and interdependence with those around me. And this is what we all need to learn. We have to realize the importance of togetherness and what being a community means. We also need to be gentler to ourselves. Life is unpredictable. Thats the beauty of it. Ups and downs are bound to happen. And so failure and the feeling of inadequacy is universal. Don't compare someone else's outside with your inside! Live YOUR life and YOUR truth. Make more room for positive things in your heart and less of the negative. And while you're at it, share a smile or pay a compliment to someone in your community today. You never know what someone is going through and how that "little" act may impact their whole day/week/month...

And that's what I did now. Helping others to rise up again with no longer dwell in past mistakes and guilt for too late to fix or to do the right things. Maybe they're no longer deserve a second chance from previous view, but They deserves to rise up again and be better than yesterday so they can give a try another best version him. Just like he said.. "It's a constant reminder to ourselves as a human being... We might feel like we are devastated with circumstances in which we find ourselves. But there remains inside us. Things that will let us rise up again."

"We need to create the room to collaborate" Love that!!! Humans actually have made better and more progress collaborating than competing. We need to end the idea that the only way forward or the best way forward is competition. Maybe some friendly competition mixed with collaboration is the best of it but collaboration is essential for positive change.
