Love Revy! Was lucky enough to catch a rope drop for Three Bears on my last visit. A dozen people dropping into a narrow chute filled with perfect knee deep powder, it was total chaos and silly fun

That sounds like my kind of mayhem. Would love to get a deep day at Revy this year.

@@riseandalpine when the rope drops for separate reality bowl its just awesome. The locals know roughly the time it expects to open so they'll try time a few laps on the stoke and get just on opening.

that was helpful. i've avoided Revy because i thought it was better suited to advanced skiers and riders. nice to know that leaves a lot of room on groomers for more intermediate types.
@BramskiVlogs Жыл бұрын
They've made a big push to welcome more families to the resort in recent years. Mid mountain groomers are always empty as all the advanced skiers head to the bowls up top.

Fair review. One caution: Don't go late in the season, it not the mountain for spring skiing because it faces West; and how low it is in the valley means no over night freezes and rain.

Do you have any recommendations on ski jackets (shells) for skiing in the North Shore mountains? Do you know if the North Face Tsirku jacket is good or not? I would like one that has good waterproofing.
@riseandalpine Жыл бұрын
Hey! Any 3L shell jacket from a ski company will work great in the North Shore. Sometimes the fit changes between brands so the big thing is finding something you find comfortable. As long as it's a shell with 20k+ waterproofing it works great for winter on the North Shore. I've never work North Face but I do think they look really sick!
@tankhistoryfordummies Жыл бұрын
@@riseandalpine I am not sure what the waterproofing of their material is. They didn't publicly release it for the FUTURELIGHT material. It is a 3L shell with taped seams and ripstop.

if flying in, do you need a car once you get there or can you be OK if you're just taking a shuttle to/ from kelowna?
@riseandalpine Жыл бұрын
You'd be totally fine without a car if you stayed in town. There is a shuttle bus that can take you to the mountain every day. It's handy to have a car if you want to go to Rogers pass, but the downtown is very small and walkable and the hill is like a 10 minute drive out of town.

How is the park? How many rails do they set up?
@riseandalpine Жыл бұрын
Park was pretty small in my opinion. Probably 5 rails before the bottom and two jumps, neither too large. Best part about the park is you get some great skiing above and below it before you hit it. If you're a park only rider, Blackcomb is way better and even Grouse Mtn in Vancouver is much better for park! Someone feel free to correct me if you know more about parks!

Honestly done season at Whistler and Revy. Whistler wins hands down for me. Way more alpine and more snow. Revy can get rain too. However both are good I just prefer Whistler.

@@riseandalpine Oh I 100% recommend our golden child sunshine village in Banff and lake Louis which is only a 30 min drive from the town of Banff! Marmot basin in jasper is also a ton of fun, although I may be a bit biased just cause that’s home for me😂. Those three make for an amazing road trip especially the drive along the icefields parkway! I also recommend castle mountain but that is quite far south (closer to Lethbridge, AB) and may require it’s own road trip😅
@src248 Жыл бұрын
@@riseandalpine I'll be sure to give you a high five if I see ya! Sunshine has the craziest stuff with Delirium Dive (look up Rocket Pocket) and Wild West, South Chutes are super fun (Think Again to Eagle Creek is my favourite lap). West Bowl and the backside of Louise have some excellent runs, the hike up to Brown Cow is very worthwhile. Castle is definitely worth a visit, it's like a mini Revy with great steeps and trees

The resort has one on site accommodation which is the Sutton Place Hotel, its the only ski in-ski out property unless you are renting the big heli lodges next door. All other hotels, airbnbs, vrbos are all based in town which is a 10 minute drive from the resort. There's a shuttle service that runs regularly in winter stopping at all major pick up points in town. Its run by Revelstoke Transfers, not the resort, and their winter schedule should be up late october time. Hope this helps !
@brentwareing4162 Жыл бұрын
Sutton place is the only ski in/out property which is a mix of Owned Units in the rental pool and Many units that are actually private condos so it’s very limited at the moment. New hotel across the street from the gondola is opening in 2025 and there are many great options in town
@johncheresna Жыл бұрын
The hill is great. The staff (lately) not so much, can actually be rude (except for the Revelution lodge) The crowds have gone up 4x in a few years, but the have added virtulay no facilities and often they are out of order. The management and staff make you fell Unwelcome. The lifts are overworked and often break down.
@danieltaylor33969 ай бұрын
Revy is a great mountain with a flawed lift system because they never accounted for the extremely low base elevation. And the lift system does a poor job of spreading out skiers. The front side has a beginner run cat track with switchbacks that crisscrosses the runs every 500ft vertical or so that you have to watch out for. The clientele is predominately black diamond skiers in their 20s and 30s and mostly guys.
