Another great adventure. Unbeleivable summer you had. From the Sunshine coast to Oregon coast, Abbot peak, Vancouver peak and now mount Cheam, I guess it's the magic of the video. Next month already opening of W/B new gondola, creek side !!!!!!!!I It's amazing

years back , you used to be able to drive up from Bridal falls to a valley to right of peak above the handglider jump off ,the road got to hairy for public so was decommissioned after the ramp . if i remember was a 1.5 hour hike to peak from parking area which only fit about 4 of 5 rigs , as teen i did from bottom to peak and back in 12 hr ,would kill me now at 58 lol

Hello, I met you just 2 years ago in the trail to Mt. Cheam. You gave me a ride going to the headtrail to the Summit. I hope you will remember me. My name is Joey.

So glad you liked it. Thanks for the pronunciation confirmation. Had no idea how to pronounce it.

The views are absolutely amazing man. I can't wait for the snow to melt this season so I can try this hike. Thanks for a well-shot video, enjoyed it for sure :) One question - Are there any spots to park your car along the forestry service road before it gets bumpy? I don't have a 4x4, if I do this hike I plan to park it along the road and hike up to the trail.

Fantastic place! Is the haze due to wildfire, or it is normally like this in summer?
@riseandalpine Жыл бұрын
This was in September at the tail end of fire season so it had a bit of haze. Theres always alot of fires in the summer but if you time it right you'll get some crispy and beautiful views.
@TheNewGreenIsBlue5 ай бұрын
Ya gotta hit it after a rainfall. The haze is partly wildfire, partly Vancouver's smog which gets blown in and stuck in the valley. It's an unfortunate situation that any pollution Vancouver creates gets blown inland.

Hi which day of the week and month did you go? Are Saturdays really busy? And do you know I'd we could pitch tent somewhere?
@riseandalpine Жыл бұрын
This was on a Saturday in July. it was fairly busy but we went early in the AM so it wasn't so bad. There was one nice spot protected by rocks where you could pitch a tent at the top.

I really wanna do this but I don’t got no 4x4 😭🙏
@riseandalpine3 ай бұрын
You could always try and hitch hike up the 4x4 road!

A video that just doesn't do justice to its surroundings. Cheam is more epic because of the journey- but not getting to the trailhead, rather the mountain itself. Where are all or any of the mind blowing wildflowers? Did you stop at the col between Lady and Cheam for the stunning views of Jones Lake?? There's so much more to this hike than just crushing it in fwo hours, omg bro.

Love this hike. Done it over a dozen times in the summer and the winter.

I really would like to go but unfortunately my car simply can't handle that kind of off-roading and I don't wanna spend a lot of $$$ on renting a car.
@riseandalpine Жыл бұрын
Fair enough. You could always drive up to the bottom of the trailhead and hitch hike up to the top. I drove a random hiker up and I'm sure there would be lot's of other nice people willing to give you a ride as well!
@happyfisherman44323 ай бұрын
that is not a hike.. that is mountain climbing there's a distinct difference between the two activities in necessary fitness level to do the two successfully and still be pain free enough to enjoy your successful finish line crossing
@riseandalpine3 ай бұрын
Interesting take. I would say with confidence that Cheam is the definition of hiking. But it's a spectrum I guess!

Buddy mountain climbing requires ropes ladders and heavy equipment here you just WALK up not climb
