A ring in a box but not your dream, itʼs not a diamond, itʼs aquamarine. Your shocking look of self defeat, so desperate. I think of the place where you fooled me, beside the tarmac, you never came clean. Iʼm driving past the gruesome scene, Iʼll never forget this. I told you I wished that I was dead and my eyes wouldn't open up again. I canʼt believe I wasnʼt joking. Salt and lime I taste, the sickest thoughts I canʼt erase. These images wonʼt stop provoking. You know you could, I wish you would. Fall on your knees and remove the sorrow, return the piece of my heart you borrowed. Things you used to say could take the pain away. But now youʼre gone and weʼre falling faster, forgetting things that we used to master. Games we used to play could take the pain away. You packed your shit and went ahead. My mind and my soul were left for dead. I canʼt believe that you werenʼt joking. Sweat runs down my face, my bloody knuckles marked with stains. My throat is closing up Iʼm choking. Same bed, we take no precautions. Emotions, regrets and revenge. The last step in killing the karma, it makes sense for where weʼve been. The same car, same songs, same motions. We hold hands, relive how we met. But no talk, no reconciliation. This trainʼs already left. Did you think next April youʼd be even further away? Did you keep him faithful? How many nights did you lay awake? And even 6 years later, the dialogue, it stays the same. Youʼre two thousand miles away, betrayers never change. A ring in a box but not from me, itʼs still no diamond, itʼs aquamarine. Youʼll never find your place of peace. Youʼll always regret this.

I have a lot of awesome memories for songs like the artist, a great fire, vices, the ides of march, when broken is easily fixed, live to kill, toronto, stand amid the roar, massachusetts or my heroine just to name a few. I listened to this song just once while reading the lyrics and I already knew that this will still be one of my fav songs a few years from now ...

This is one of the biggest sleeper hits on the record. It sounds like their old stuff from the first two records. I still remember reading Alternative Press during those years and going to the store to buy When Broken Is Easily Fixed. If it's possible to "wear out" a CD, ....I did. Over the years, I lost track of Silverstein and moved on to other bands and music, but one time I thought of them and looked them up and noticed this was their new record and that they were still a band and I got SO excited. I immediately ordered this record on LP. I love this band. Still.

Not to be a downer, but that's if they don't quit making music. They've been a band for almost two decades. They're my favorite band, but they've got to stop at some point. With the exception of Paul Marc who's in his late 20s and Billy who's in his early 30s, they're all in their mid-to-late 30s. Doing this-constantly in the studio followed by two years of touring-takes its toll.
@kdindore1990
@kdindore1990 7 жыл бұрын
CaptCorleone are you new to music? Bad religion, still releasing music since the mid 80s. Blink, still releasing music. Every time I die, still releasing music. They're not going anywhere. You're negativity isn't welcome here.

+CaptCorleone being in a band is all they know. They've been touring since like 17 years old. Believe me, they won't stop for a while.
@captcorleone2606
@captcorleone2606 7 жыл бұрын
Blake Killed The Prom Queen First, let me preface this: I don't want the band to go anywhere. They're my favorite band, and have been since the release of Discovering The Waterfront in 05. I don't want them to my MCR or my Underoath (unless they come back like UO). Now, they'll always make money from Silverstein. It might not be six figures, but that paired with an average job would be more than enough. I understand that this is all they know, but I don't believe it's all they want. Shane's been in the band since he was about 17, and he's 38 now. That's 21 years of almost constantly touring. I think I'd be tired. I'd be ready to settle down with a wife and children. If not stop making music altogether, at the very least I'd want to take the Slipknot route and only release an album every 4-6 years, stop touring so much, etc. Bands need breaks, and I feel like SIlverstein's break is coming within the next couple of years. Maybe not a permanent one, but some sort of time off.

Right. I bought discovering the waterfront in middle school and then listened to the next 3 albums and then grew up and started a family and then all of a sudden I heard this 2 years ago and was like they’re still making music?! They’re still relevant and it’s awesome! I’m gonna see them in Vegas this upcoming October 🤘

I was in Burlington, Ontario, one summer, way, way back. The band played to about 200 people and it was the most energizing show I'd ever seen. I was still just a teenager and everything Shane sang and screamed resonated with me. The day Broken released, I was in CD Plus and as I jammed it in my Discman on the walk home, my hands were shaking. I've seen this band grow so much over the years and change all along. And yet, the core that is Silverstein is strong and carries along. With where they are now, this is just the perfect song for them. A bit pop punk, a bit post hardcore, and every step they've taken to get here has been a part of an incredible journey. When I say I'm proud of them, I mean that sincerely. After 11 live shows and hours of honest conversation, this is, all always will be my favourite band and the best thing Canadian music has ever done.

She was looking for something else, in someone else, something greater (diamond ring), she did found something but not what she was expecting (aquamarine ring, another gem). She replace him aspiring for something "better" but what she found wasn't what she really wanted, according to her expectations. So, she's paying her karma.
