I was looking for someone to post about the lyrics! This band has so many strong suits (diversity in vocals, interesting riffs balancing heavy/groovy/bendy/floaty, engaging composition of song structure) but the lyrics are out of this world. How they can be so open to be interpreted yet so specific about personal situations is a true testament to Courtney not only knowing exactly who she is internally but also how she can find a way for others to be able to connect to lyrical content. I've tried to write in this head space and it never is anywhere on the same plane of existence as Spiritbox. I'm constantly blown away and just want to talk about the writing all day long. But what if I was inside a thousand lives to give my ghost? It's never enough, it's never enough And I've always been ashamed that I wanna Fall into a dream with my honour desecrated Blood is jaded I've never found a way to be honest All I know is a place where I haunted memories faded Blood is jaded In my dreams all I see is a crimson key Tethered by a falling string Meant to turn in the lock for me I can't leave so I justify Interloper of confidence Under pressure of influence Not a curse that I caused Never to rot What if I was? (What if I was?) What if I was? (It's never enough, it's never enough) And I've always been ashamed that I wanna Fall into a dream with my honour desecrated Blood is jaded I've never found a way to be honest All I know is a place where I haunted memories faded Blood is jaded I know where I wanna go But you know that it's too close And you know that it's too late this time And I've always been ashamed that I wanna Fall into a dream with my honour I've never found a way to be honest All I know is a place where I haunted memories faded Blood is jaded And I've always been ashamed that I wanna Fall into a dream with my honour desecrated Blood is jaded I've never found a way to be honest All I know is a place where I haunted memories faded Love is jaded

What I like about Spiritbox is that they're just absolutely excellent at what they're doing. The music isn't reinventing anything and isn't really outside the box - they're blending current, digestible, relevant mainstream pop and metal musical trends that I happen to enjoy with a good degree of complexity, and executing it perfectly. Courtney has a smooth, beautiful voice and perfect technique in all the styles she sings in, and the musical construction is grade-A every time. On top of that, every now and then they'll throw in something really unique and stick to their roots & original sound that makes it stand out - whether it's an odd, unique melody or bridge, or some unfamiliar haunting synth or a touch of avant- garde vocals, so that it never gets too stale, and the lyrics are always written in a way that can be interpreted different and relatable at least in parts by a wide audience.

not to mention their very aggressive branding and marketing unique to the metal scene, which keeps their band afloat financially
@vanadar006 ай бұрын
@@TooManyBoats1that's what having a front woman who is thicc n fine, with a killer voice will do when your band isn't special enough in a sea of plenty.... She could front a band of literally any trio or quartet of bros with mid talent and that band would instantly be given the Tom Brady effect- when even mid tier guys all the sudden start playing out of their minds because they know they have something to prove. 😂 She's truly amazing in almost every aspect. Music needs her...and her thick 🍑 😂

Their songwriting just keeps getting better every album. That riff sounds like something John Petrucci could have written. And of course, Courtney... holy hell that woman can sing! The way just seamlessly switches between those beautiful cleans and bone-crushing screams is incredible.
